They’re listening, its why several popular thralls have been gutted with the nerf hammer. But I don’t agree with that method entirely.
I see thralls and pets as just another piece of equipment. Basic equipment is easy to get. Basic thralls and pets should be easy to get. Decent equipment should take a bit more effort to get, so should thralls and pets. And finally the best equipment should be quite challenging to get, as should the best thralls and pets.
The problem with that is it takes a somewhat redesign of the map to make that work. I don’t mean redoing the whole landscape. I’m talking about the various settlements and dungeons. There’s several hundred different NPCs that can spawn, and they don’t like to sit there and go line by line making ‘microadjustments’ to stats, attributes, spawn locations, equipment, and loot drops. Frequently they do a quick search and blanket change to be more efficient in their time.
But when they do that you end up with Beastmaster Teimos with a above average damage modifier, nearly best health in the game, and on a easy to train tribe that makes him the go to for raising a decent army fast. Or in the case of Berserkers and Lians and Thurgas, and whatever else is fotm.
I don’t blame the players for picking out the loopholes in the system. That’s on FC to keep those lidded up themselves. And they could with a comprehensive thrall and pet revamp that literally goes line by line. Which they should definitely do. There’s a ton of redundancies in the thrall and pet tables that probably don’t need to be there.
