Pillars Incorrectly Recalculate Stability

Game mode: Online official
Type of issue: Bug
Server type: PvE
Region: US East Coast

Pillars that are not directly placed on foundations or the ground lose stability when they shouldn’t due to the game incorrectly recalculating stability. This can lead to massive losses in materials and it heavily restricts architecture.

How the bug can be reproduced:
Method 1:

  1. Build a 4x1 square foundation base
  2. Extend stairs 3 levels up from the edge of the base and directly over the foundations- maxing the stability
  3. Build a pillar extending from the end of the third staircase to the foundations below
  4. Continue adding stairs with the added stability from the pillars
The game will eventually recalculate the stability, and give the pillars the stability of the stairs they’re extended from.

Method 2:

  1. Build a 2x2 square foundation base, and make one half two foundations tall
  2. Place 3 triangle ceilings going from the 2-high side over the 1-high side – in the shape of a trapezoid (this will give the middle triangle ceiling 60 stability)
  3. Place a pillar extending from the bottom of the middle triangle ceiling to the square foundations below (this will transfer their stability to the triangle ceiling)
The game will eventually recalculate the stability, and give the pillars the stability of the ceiling they’re extended from.

Method 3:

  1. Build any combination of square and triangle foundations which originate from the same foundation (in order to maintain proper elevations) that causes two foundations (either square or triangle) to not align properly
  2. Build one of the misaligned foundations up one level, and extend any type of ceiling out.
  3. Extend a pillar from the bottom of the ceiling to the top of the other misaligned foundation to transfer its stability
The game will eventually recalculate the stability, and give the pillars the stability of the ceiling they’re extending from.
