I agree, the sandstorms are too frequent
I have been shopping around for a new server, so I’ve made lots of new characters on different servers, I’ve had characters die, before even reaching the river because of a sandstorm and no shelter.
And every time I try to play, sandstorms happen so often, I move to the highlands at twenty or below just because they are less severe up there.
Until we get a fix, you could try J5 or east. The alarming visual is seen, but there is no sandstorm and you take no damage.

You use that word, “unplayable”; I do not think it means what you think it means.
We’re having bugged sandstorms on the private server I play on. About 1/3 of the time, there’s a sandstorm that causes no damage, but there’s a painfully bright bloom effect on the screen. The second 1/3, the sandstorm happens & causes damage normally, but is completely invisible. The final 1/3, the sandstorm behaves as intended. Sandstorms have been buggy since yes, but they hardly render the game “unplayable”. #wordshavemeaning
Whenever I read “… the game is unplayable…”, "… the game is dead… “, " … this kills PvP/ PvE (pick one of your choice)”, etc. I have picture in my head, from a 14 years old school boy, who is angry about his mom and dad and the whole world and now, right now, the games even begins to annoy him with a bug, a change, a nerf or what ever.
Then he rage quits the game, went to the forum and write his angry post 
.

The sandstorms are annoying but unplayable… come on you are being abit dramatic here.
