The game right now it’s basically Agility favoured, not only the weapons overall are better but since you have you invest 10 points into agility not to fall roll and 15 points in grit to compete (It’s sadly a must) people simply don’t bother with STR builds since they are not only sub-Optimal but boring.
In a PVP scenario, the agility build will always outperform any other build, no matter the case.
I think it is time to bring back the spear so the people who actually played strength build could have their own way to compete against the hardcore Claws/Bow meta.
you have not seem that with grit 3 perk, this is str build that are favored ?
after the thing that favor claws and punching dagger an daggers, is qlock and lag, because this is quick attack weapons, and untill this is not understood by fc, that qlock do not have space in a pvp game mode, especially when lag is part of the equation.
no they made animation quicker, a spear has longer reach than any other weapons, damage output of all str weapons is greater than agility, and again the problem you have with claw, and punching dagger is linked to the qlock option. before this update str weapons where nearly no more usable as agility was the one viable, that now no more the case and str weapons now can deal with agility due to the perk change 3 to grit. goal is not to make only one weapons meta, but make again all weapons usable, this update is clearly taking this path., path of pvp wise.
Spear does not really compete with the spam meta of katana and claws you do not even need q-lock
I Mean sure you can kill people with it but there is an obvious advantage with the light spam on those agility weapons
Tbh spear feels pretty useable right now if you have good timing. It was definitely too fast originally but it could be made a little faster than it is now without being a problem as well.
You’re right about agility builds though ! Changing the fast roll to come with 5 in agility instead of 10 would really go a long way for build variation.
You can only play it on the reactive side. if you know someone is charging you. But if you follow and get into a fight, the 1st heavy opener is too slow and the light attack does little damage and has less reach.
