Hi all, I’ve been playing Conan Exiles for some time now and have loved every second of it. Just recently, like earlier today of this writing, a friend of mine got the game and joined me in co-op. I hosted. We just got started, set up a clan and got the foundations for our first build up before we had to take a break. She quit out and then I did. The trouble started when we restarted the game and I hit continue in co-op. I had to create a new character and I was naked again, no items, no clothing no levels or feats. She had everything but started back at the beginning with me. I can’t even build where we built before because she can’t invite me into the clan I started. I was talking her through a lot in voice, but she’s just learning the game and now I can’t even build with her to show what to do. She had to leave for the evening and I tried a few things. Stored everything I made and collected just in case and quit out to test. Sure enough when I went to continue, it has me making a new character AGAIN. I really need to know what’s going on and hope I don’t have to remake a character EVERY time we restart the game. Please help. ---

Thanks for the response. To be honest, I never played this game co-op before, so it was a surprise for me to have to make a new character every time I hosted AND hit continue. It should have just started where we left off. As for the save files? I hadn’t checked and didn’t back up anything because, at the time, I thought we’d start, play, save and be fine. I didn’t think I’d run into this issue. I’d love to find a way to resolve this, it would be a hassle to have to do this every time and I shouldn’t. I just don’t know how to fix it. Not really knowledgeable in this area. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. ---

Again, thank you for this. Found and checked, the folder had the Read Only checked, so unchecked it. Went to game and hit continue, did the same thing before, have to create new character, but thinking maybe this will be the last time. Will start a new game with friend and see how it goes from there. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will work. Again, much thanks for taking the time and talking me through this. Will post tomorrow results. ---

Went in and created a new char. Did a few things and logged out, restarted game and my char was still there. You’re solution was spot on, thanks so much. ---
