I disagree.
When a mistake or bug happens, they’re inclined to want to fix it. When they change something intentionally, they’ve already spent dev resources creating it, and they probably want the game to work the way they went for, so they’re less inclined to revert it.
So the Nemedian foundation thing: Changing how the foundation aligns was intentional. The consequences of losing stuff placed on top of said foundations was not. So when fixing things, they’re less likely to change the way the foundation aligns, and more likely to fix the stability issue.
But at least we’re not working in law enforcement. Over on that side, the question of intent is kinda more important.

if I remember correctly a few players wrote that they reported a problem with nemedian foundations in open beta.
Plus it was a mesh change so I would expect a capable programmer to at least try to test if it will be a problem.
And anyway it went live , and cost them a lot of players and damaged the company name.
After this fiasco they simply HAD to do a rollback because they correctly reasoned that if they ignored it again and just gave some ridiculous compensation there would probably be a massive player exodus and the PVE servers would be dead ( who would trust a company like that and give them money?).

The nemedian foundation issue wasn’t a bug. It was an intentional adjustment with negative consequences. It was tested and got the desired results. No roll back for it would be needed and would simply result in stuff poofing again.
99% of people in these forums. Despite what they say. This game has been broken according to most forum critics for 6 years and yet they have spent an order of magnitude more than I have on the game since Age of Sorcery.
The ones who made threads about this are the perfect customer. They buy and play despite anything FC does or doesn’t do. For years.
10 years from now these posters will still be complaining. But they’ll still be here and buying.

but yeah, I’m sure there are a few individuals who will buy anything
I personally bought the first AoS BP, played it all and got CP for the next one but it didn’t interest me
then I spent the CP on Aqilonian Bathroom, only to wait a month for the toilet, that was the last straw for me …
I have some CP left and I won’t buy any more , I spent some recently on clan symbols and the last 257 CP are hard to give away , max if there is a cheap solo piece in the bazaar
Last Friday, after my experience with the new open beta purges, I decided to strengthen the defense of our clan base. So I pulled a few zerkers and dalins from the warehouse, captured a few more with the intention of adding 10 fighters to what we have.
I made 10 sets of epic armor and some weapons of course , well it took a while …not to mention I took them and the first couple on a trip to UC for leveling.
So a fine Friday afternoon which, although I didn’t know it at the time, saved all our thralls
Thanks to rollback I replayed the whole thing completely on Wednesday and I’m not complaining , poor PVP , they just had to rip off a few offline players again and it’s epic drama in a dozen posts

They should have warned people beforehand, so that they could replace the foundations. A week of increased rates and then they would implement the change. The problem is that they didn’t realize what the change would cause and that was realy poor quality assurance.
They could have rolled back the servers and did the above, but you saw what happened with this rollback. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I know from the PS side of this, that may not be a bad thing as the map clears out. The worst is the PVE-C servers since there are so few and every single one of them populated with over 20-40 in normal evening hours.

Scope was different. The thrall affected everyone, everywhere. The nem foundation issue only affected those with nem foundaitons. A good chunk of folks but not nearly the amount of the thrall issue.

I agree @erjoh , but tell that to those who lost their bases and everything on them…

Oh I agree there. If you are affected, then nothing makes up for when they don’t do something for you but do it if it affects others. Its the price of being on officials. You are just a player and the admin can smite you. Justification is subjective and if you want full control, you go private server. I still stand with official servers need to be periodically wiped (like every year) and, in fact, it’s the years worth of collection and builds that is half of the issue for Officials playability. Not only does it clear out the junk on the server but it also recalibrates everyone’s minds on what the game is about…the journey not the end destination.

For you, for me, but many would disagree. There are people who have lvl60 chars for years, @erjoh . I have nothing against that. It’s just not my playstyle. After a few months I like to go back to the drawing board and try something different.
Here’s my complaint: self-appointed forum police. It doesn’t affect your life one way or the other for players to post on this forum their concerns (and in the way of their choosing).
Mmmm, Thralls didn’t affect privates and SP. Which according to some on this forum are a majority compared to officials. Then, you take officials and have a chunk that play daily. They were not affected. Only those that didnt log in Friday and only play every 3-decay timer max were affected.
Nemedian affected any owners who owned the DLC. All types. My guess is that is more than the thrall decay issue. And Nemedian wiped out Every thing on them. Thralls are easier to replace than Chests and Vaults of farmed items. Along with the actual building mats of the nemedian foundations.
Edit.
Also, what about the people who dont play daily on the roll backs. They logged in Friday pr Saturday and refreshed timers that were down to 1 day left, whether playing or just refreshing. The roll back removed that refresh. And if they dont follow forums or other notifications, They logged in Tuesday+ and guess what. All there stuff decayed. Thralls, buildings. Everything. So yeah, roll back nicked others in a way no one is mentioning. I lost stuff fpr that reason on a few officail pvp hidy holes.

Fairs points all around. I thought about the decay timer thing a few days ago and managed to run around and got them all taken care of.
