Between an Intellivision, NES, SNES, N64, PS1-3, and Wii (and I purchased my PS1, 2, and 3 as well as the Wii at the end of their retail life on clearance, not when they came out)… I’ve spent nearly triple on consoles on hardware alone than my three PCs spanning 1994-2024. Don’t even get me started on the peripheral side of things like controllers costing as much as games. Don’t know why this became a thing.
As I said, you pay for convenience when you go console. Sure you can go total crazy with PC. But those with a frugal mindset can easily get a system up and running for a fraction of the console cost. But I will admit, that isn’t something everyone is capable of doing. But at the end of the day we are talking about a luxury either way. If one is poor enough that some of this is stressing them… video games might be something they need to cut out of their budgets. FC or any developer is not obligated to service that. Its their decision if they want to offer affordable options or not. They simply decided not to.
Hmmm…

FOMO and Cosmetic. Though at least that one is physical. The ones who rushed out to purchase that were lucky it was a great game. Imagine if it was like Atari ET though.
