Public Beta Client- Age of Heroes Chapter 1 Update Discussion Megathread

Over and over and over and over and over and over.

First it starts with rubberbanding, I can’t see inventories by hovering or interact with them, can’t harvest. Even if I get from point A to point B, I rubberband back to another spot or it shoots me way ahead. Can’t command followers. Can’t see players in player list.

The BE message might be “Client not responding” but it’s not because I am idle. It’s like its kicking me for bad behaviour and the bad behaviour is lagging which I have no control over. I try staying still instead and I still get kicked.

This is happening alone and with others on server.

Server isn’t crashing and restarting despite it missing from the server list often after these kicks.

Got on the beta server, got the easy rebuild done. tried a few times to start a purge, nope. To late in the beta for me to put more effort in to it. Dismantle it and and lay off the T3s, and be done with the beta build.

Can someone test if worker thralls use another player furniture like bed or chair if a player build near another one? because if it work it will be exploit abused in pve and in pvp to kill thralls…

I’ve tried with no success, thankfully.

Edit: I specifically used a bench to see if their thrall showed up on it.

Not filing it as a bug because I don’t know if they just didn’t have time to add it in his inventory. Being that he is permanently corrupted though… he should appear corrupted here too.

I don’t think Bar Patrons should be able to be killed. You can’t see their HP bars if you have that enabled, they can’t be KO’d from what I can tell.

You can cycle them out, new Patrons replacing the old until a preferred one comes.

Also, if you are able to get enough seating to get more you can just kill them for resources. Like zeal…

You can see a couple more things going on here too: rubberbanding and the bug with fatalities.

Fighters, dancers and archers pop off of wheel and stand there. Crafters you have to remove. This places them in your inventory and you can carry them to your base.

Really looking forward to the Age of Heroes Chapter 1 update! The new content and changes seem awesome, especially the storyline and skill tweaks. Can’t wait to see how this shakes things up. Anyone else think some heroes are gonna feel way stronger after this? Let’s hear what you’re excited about!

I can dress up my bench dollies. Which is the high point of lively thralls because the rest of it is so borked.

Curiosity got the best of me. No way to know this is how they react or not in the release on Thursday due to some fixes that are not making their way to Beta.

But as it stands now none of the worker thralls cower either within base and not following or following. They will all fight immediately if set up that way.

They’re just as good as most T1-3s really.

They also get stuck very easily while attempting to fight and will stand and stare.

I have no idea if I should even file a bug report but actively working thralls (on bench while in settlement mode) will show they’re in DBNO, their animations are still of working and still providing bonuses to the benches. They will die if grey reaches zero but continue to show healing if they have food in their inventories.

This is all tested in Single Player.

I tried switching to default for testing but quickly got annoyed. I couldn’t see anything behind me lol

lol, AS mentioned half baked, funcom loves to release broken stuff. i wonder if they do like to sabotage themselves? …

they could be dying but they still need their soup . and needs to go to work. so immersive, how lively the settlement system is.

they should call simms developers so they can teach them a thing or two about lively sytems for their game.

They have absolutely no problem engaging in battle. Did fine killing anything I spawned.

I made them passive to observe the DBNO issues I saw, that’s what is in the picture.

thx alol for testing. that kinda worries me even more :smiley: i guess we ll see tomorrow what they fixed and what changed. overall beside the new companion quests i m not looking forward to this update.

were you able to revive them or are they stuck in animation ?

Yes could be revived.

DBNO is in a bad state though.
