It seems the purge is working a lot better now. I’m getting through a bunch of level 8’s with minimal glitches. However the resources spent (arrows, building mats) don’t even get close to being covered by the loot. A jade horn and harp and a scroll I already had and the rest of it was trash. If we’re chunking through this many resources the rewards need to improve significantly. No has use for tables and chairs after burning through 300 poison arrows and 750 star metal arrows. Then the mats to repair your building… There needs to be a balance …

Wow! That’s a lot of arrows. I personally don’t use a single arrow during the purge. Perhaps there is a less expensive way for you to complete your purges. 
I don’t think the purge rewards need to replace the need to farm and I guess if you insist on consuming that many arrows you will have to consider spending more time farming materials.
IMHO, it’s quite natural to expect a supply of weapons, ammunition and armor at a captured military base, don’t you think?
We find armor and some weapons in the chests, even legendary ones come across, but they are few. It just begs to be a significant supply of arrows, for example.
I’m not complaining about using resources, I’ve got vaults and vaults that I finally get to use. But the fact is, the old purge rewards were better. Take the Berserker purge for example. At a base level you’d get all the armor drops, named purge fighters, named crafters and as many thralls as you want to knock out.
Now the armor is the same set of low grade armor over and over. All the thralls I’ve found have been low level named thralls with 20 strength and 1900 health. One maybe two legendary treasures which I can find all over the map.
And the big issue is there is almost no difference between a level 2 and level 8 loot. Shy of an extra treasure.
And 12 archer thralls during a 30 minute purge where over 300 enemies come through, 750 arrows is nothing. And except the AI glitching I haven’t lost a thrall.
And I agree with Teng. In a combat army based event, it is not unreasonable to expect to loot to include weapons and armor. Not tables, rugs and chairs. Iron weapons are dropping both in level 1 and level 8 purges.
