Building materials require:

Wood to convert into shaped wood.
Or, dried wood either farmed or converted in drier. If converted, need bark. If so, also need resin which is acquired via farming wood or processing in drier.

If making hardened brick need stone and fuel, process in furnace for brick. Need resin and plant fiber for stone consolidant then process again in furnace. Hardened brick is ALWAYS the worst and is absolutely not free.

For steel reinforcements need iron ore + fuel. The off chance you have a T3 or T4 blacksmith will only need to convert the iron into iron reinforcements. Need steelfire to convert to steel reinforcements. So brimstone, hide and bark. Then convert the hide into tar. Then combine the tar and brimstone into steelfire. If you don’t have a T3 blacksmith, well SOL, you’re making steel which also requires steelfire in the furnace and as most know, is much more time consuming.

If going black ice you can skip the step for bricks but you still have to make the insulated wood.

You have multiple bottlenecks.

For dragon powder:

Stone for jugs. Quick and easy. Tar so need the hides and bark but split 2 ways, both for crafting the jars but also for crafting the steelfire into DP. Need brimstone, crystal and some demon blood. So really your only bottleneck is the steelfire.

You can take a whole 10 bombs at most, which 4 you don’t even need to craft, and go blow up noob river.

So I really don’t understand this insistence, especially on Officials which are x4, that building materials are easier to put together. Building damage is not what it used to be at all. Raiding has been made extremely easy.
