The thing with the pyramid stairs, IMO, is that you need to look at them more as utility rather than as decoration. What I mean is you need to design your layout with the stairs being nothing more than a means of going up and down a level. Not as something pretty to see as you enter the building.
Kind of like the stairs that just go up into the attic or down into the basement. They tend to get put where they are simply because it’s a decent spot for an access point and they are more hidden than they would be otherwise.
Actually, now that I mentioned that, it makes sense if you think about how the doors are made to blend in with the walls.
Obviously there are ways to place them to make them look pretty. I just think they work better if you put more emphasis on function rather than aesthetic when you’re deciding where to put them in your pyramid.
