Reflection on Conan Exiles and Its Community

Play with any group of guys that use female characters or watch videos of their gameplay and observe what is to be known.

Mind explaining?

Most good bow PvPers use smallest female. Due to hitbox being smaller. Meanwhile most high end Strength players use largest male for longer reach.

Makes sense if „guy using a female character“ was meant as „a player uses a female character“ and not “a male player uses a female character“ (no native speaker here so maybe I got this wrong). If meant in the latter way I still have no clue whatsoever hence the question.

Um… I hate to break it to all the PvP meta-chasers, but this isn’t true.

You can easily test it for yourself if you don’t believe me. Have a max height male character stand next to a min height female character and shoot the male character in the face, then aim at the exact same height over the female character’s head and the arrow will teleport down and still hit them in the face.

A small character might still have a use in that they would be smaller visually, and so easier to hide, but there is no advantage in the hitbox.

Wrong entirely. Some cracks are only accessible if smallest female. You’re also failing to think of vertical hitbox. Sorry to break it to you.

You were talking about archers.

Yes, the collision with physical obstacles is smaller, but that is relevant to everyone, not just archers.

Another fun fact for you. Thralls and pets placed also differ based on your character gender and size. Also alters their hit boxes.

Statement still stands. Smaller character is a smaller hitbox than a larger character. It’s a fact.

When goalposts have been moved, yes. In the context of physical objects, smaller characters have a smaller hitbox, but the damage hitbox is unaffected by character size.

Again. Wrong.

Funcom Also needs is to both repair and restore the single player back to it’s full functionality on console (playstation).

This was the biggest issue it had. If they had a warning system saying “you are in violation of XY and you have Z days to correct the issue or your guild will receive a suspension or ban depending upon investigation” it would A). let the players understand what they are doing wrong so they could LEARN from their mistakes and how to correct them and B), give them the chance to correct their mistake without having to receive a suspension (which people love to call a ban for whatever reason).

Just punishing people without letting them know WHY they are being punished (outside of generic copy paste messages that really do not say anything) does not solve the issues, leading to people becoming suspended multiple times and eventually becoming banned. TEACHING people what they are doing wrong and giving them the chance to rectify their error will weed out those players who mistakenly made an error due to not understanding and those who purposefully bent the rules in an attempt to “get away with it”. The people who made an error due to not understanding will learn from their mistake and not make it going forward. Those looking to bend the rules will more than likely continue to do so.

Those are definitely the most egregious mistakes that were being made flagrantly. But many mistakes were made simply due to not understanding what was and what was not acceptable and or allowed. Other common mistakes were who were acceptable to associate with, because one person in a 10 person clan was all that was needed to get the other nine suspended.

I think the only explanation is that he likes to ERP and doesn’t like to think about the idea that the “girl” on the other side of the pixels is actually not a “girl” in real life. Otherwise I have NO IDEA!

I don’t really believe this. Funcom must have known what they were getting into. Toxicity in PVP is a well-known thing.

And even their previous game, Age of Conan, had a pretty toxic PVP community.

Personal note: many years ago, I served as a diplomat for a large guild in Age of Conan (I was young and foolish and didn’t know what I was getting myself into.). Part of our clan, very experienced PVP players, quickly took control of Keshatta.
And accusations of cheating quickly spread, mainly on the game forum. Of course, the “evidence” was usually a screenshot from the game where someone in the chat wrote that we were definitely cheating. As far as I know, no one from the clan was banned during the time I played AoC.

Simply search on YouTube for “Conan Exiles PvP”, “Conan Exiles Server”, “Conan Exiles PvE”, or watch the Twitch live streams of most guys that play the game. I don’t need to explain what is evident. I’m not imagining anything that isn’t there and I’m not pointing out anything specific because that would open the floor mendacious antagonism. So, take a look at what is to be seen and you can see what is there for yourself.

In Conan Exiles, the hit box is not smaller for female characters. The hit box is the same for both male and female characters.

Try it and see, search for videos on YouTube, or watch some live streams on Twitch. You will see what is there.

I’ve played PVP primarily with and against men for years, who happen to play female toons.

I do not know what you’re trying to say.

I am also a woman.

Well, that means you know what goes on. I’m saying exactly what I said. What goes on with those types of players is evident when playing with them or watching videos/streams of their gameplay.
