Relic hunter pick cannot farm star metal

Bug Description:

relic hunter pick cannot farm starmetal even when its made out of the same materials of the hardened steel pick (materials to relic hunter pick=2 shaped wood, 15 hardened steel bar, 5 alchemical base) (hardened steel pick= 2 shaped wood, 15 hardened steel bar,) i could only use the hardened steel pick to farm star metal

Bug Reproduction:

made the relic hunter pick frome the smith and huntet for star metal found it and could not farm it,

According to the wiki, it’s a reskin of the Acheronian pick and not the Hardened steel pick which means no star metal harvest

thx for the info its just wird its cost the same but you cannot havest star metal then they need to change it to steel or iron

Yep I never understood the decision to make acheronian tools unable to harvest star metal since they are unlocked at lvl 60…..actually can you do me a favor? Try using a RH hatchet. I got a theory looking at the RH tools. It appears that the hatchet ,cleaver, sickle and knife are all Hardened steel in harvesting power. If that’s the case, you may be able to collect SM with the RH hatchet because it may just be a reskin of the HS….of course i never confirmed you can harvest SM with a hatchet so who knows.

I posted a topic with the exact same title 2 years ago (except I said “can’t” instead of “cannot”).

Should be changed. Frankly, I don’t get why there’s this additional barrier to farm star metal at all. If somebody manages to reach the Frozen North / Sipah Island Center with explosives and only a stone pick… Crom, let them harvest some Star Metal.

That was a change because us vets went straight from steel to star metal

Hu. To be frank: I go from stone to looted hardened steel to legendary. Star Metal is done last for crafting Master Weapon Kits, and the first bars are looted from purges and smelting down Cimmerians’ weapons. Who actually crafts weapons?

Oh I do all the time. Rapiers, anc. Lem ax, lem sword, asier chief great axe, voidforge katana….I can’t rely on legendary drops because of rng. I hate the RNG so I have tailored my game play around crafted goods.

Agreed. I don’t use legendary weapons too often anymore either. If I can’t craft and repair my weapon, it’s a hassle to rely on a legendary drop. If it’s a legendary i like the look of, I’ll usually just use it as a skin. For example, I reskinned my bindings of the dead with the dead woman’s tresses. Any legendary weapons get used for very specific purposes or given to thralls if I don’t have enough copies of the Momentum.
