The only problem I have with the ‘Break bond’ thing is that when clicked, it drops my cursor to the upper left corner.

It’s exactly the same on us too!
But if you spam the x button it’s already on yes selection. Sometimes the joystick users are spamming buttons (blind system habits) and they delete characters or thralls this way. So it would be best if the selection was in no and you have to choose yes instead the opposite! This I believe is very easy to be done and accidents can be avoided!
About the radial remove I agree, this feature could be very handy. But what I need in radial commands is the follow option, yet in radial less than 100. This way I can call every thrall I need from my base to come to me without the neccecity for me to go to it and command it. I say radial 100 proximity only because if it’s more, people would abuse this option in pvp! Even less than 100 proximity would be awesome!

Thanks @Coty

Now @Mikey and @CodeMage too, as you see we have a confirmation window!

The problem is that the Yes is on X button. X is the button that confirms all the rest too, so in a case of tiredness or lag you may do the mistake very easy!
So maybe the button that confirms yes should be square, or triangle, not X.
Second solution .

The choise of break bonds is under the follow me command!
If the command break bond switch positions with the close command it would be very difficult to do the mistake.
Then again break bond would be close to open inventory.
YES, but how many times you check the thralls inventory this way when you can do it directly without the wheel by pressing simply square button looking at it :man_shrugging:.
But I believe that the most safe way is the first solution, nobody can blame Funcom for lags or whatever. @Coty used a harsh language, but tbh I never made this mistake my self, yet I had teammates that did it, but mostly from tiredness, not lags, demanding pvp days that we use to fall asleep with the controllers on our hands .

Thanks for confirming that.

Yeah, having the confirmation on a dialog like this be a simple press of the same button that you generally use for all other GUI interactions is an accident waiting to happen.

Personally, I like the idea of making it a 3-second press, hopefully tied to a different, less used button, with a visual indicator that you’re holding and pressing.

I wouldn’t like having it removed from the radial menu, because I’ve never ever dismissed a follower without checking its stats first, and that – unless there’s something I’ve overlooked – requires me to be there in front of it and to go through the radial menu.

There are perfectly reasonable ways to change this UI to avoid accidents that don’t involve removing it from the radial menu, but just removing it is easier and we all know what Funcom’s more likely to pick, unless they settle for the easiest option of all – ignoring the issue :stuck_out_tongue:

Exactly, especially when I go for cages with bearers, if they are not named break bonds at once. I don’t let the thralls there to bug the leyshrine fights

Exactly what happened to me one time (PS5).
Trying to get my ONLY horse to follow I picked dismiss/break bonds, panicked and confirmed the deletion of my mount. Had to wait 8 hours (next day) for a new horse.

The break bond is way too close to the follow option, and the confirmation button is one of the most used (X on PS).

You broke bond with your thrall. Aren’t they standing right in front of you? I always try to carry a truncheon with me jut in case i find a good thrall while roaming the world. I have dragged a thrall for miles to get to a wheel of pain. Perhaps next time you can just kknock them back out and off to the wheel they go
Anyway good luck

Break bond is essentially a “delete” command, they won’t run off into the wild if you do that, but simply vanish.

Nope. They drop a loot bag and instantly go ‘poof’ as if they never existed.

This is really good to know
Then how was it that the thrall i dismissed was still standing in front of me. Need help with this ome.

Awhile back had a thrall who would not fight so I broke bond she was still there then started attacking me knocked her out and put back in wheel of pain only time it has happened. I have dismissed plenty of thralls
@Xevyr @CodeMage .Obviously a glitch but then it’s Conan

While I’ve never really had problem with the current system, it does seem like restricting follower dismissal to the follower management page doesn’t hurt at all.

Granted, in situations where one needs to dismiss clones with the same names, it can be a bit tedious to check which thrall in the list is in front you, but I feel an extra safety net like that would be worthwhile.

I guess you could rename all the redundant ones to “Delete me” and then just go through the list when you have time  the one following you is shown in the list as “following” thou

This is the larger topic of ergonomics…which FC needs some lessons in. The above mentioned dismiss is one. Having remove bracelet and delete character that close with both having pop ups… another.

The one that gets me is that to move a guarding thrall, I use the “pick up” icon but to do that for placeables and mats means put it in inventory and do I have to go with the arrows icon. Lost too much time recreating placeables because of this.

I think just moving it to one of the little used thrall radial submenus would be a good compromise for sure

When you break bond they go poof and disappear

Would be cool if they start hitting you and yelling at you how you are a ungrateful so…of… before running off lmao.

This topic already made sense to me beforehand, but now I have a personal vendetta.

I just accidentally poofed a T-4 bearer…

I have about 800 thralls between my three bases. Most of them are at my main base, and all but the eight or so that I have replaced so far, have no chance of growth. I find this feature useful since it allows me to eliminate the useless thralls as I train their replacement. This is time-consuming, and I have been taking them with me on my daily challenges to speed up the process. I am using the war-party perk to do it two at a time. With about 4 hours of play a day, this will be most of what I am doing for the rest of the year. Most likely, I will only replace a fraction of my thralls. This is in my SP game.
