Hello Funcom,
I have taken the time to draft up some ideas that could improve the player experience, possibly for PvP, PvE-C and PvE.
Note: “Quality of Life” changes are features already possible in the game, but the suggestions help solidify the feature.
Here are the suggestions:
Quality of Life

Improve current lighting.
a. Current lighting does not illuminate more than about 3 to 5 feet from the player. From a realistic scenario, it works. From a gameplay scenario, its frustrating. Gameplay could use about a 1.5x multiplier increase in radius. -
Allow clans/players to designate chest/buildings as shared or private.

Allow clans to establish Alliances.
a. They do not share resources.
b. Eliminates ‘friendly fire’.
c. Options to share access to structures. -
Add functionality to “selling stall structures” to place multiple items for sale.
a. If a player wants to sell multiples, then they have to place multiple structures. -
Introduce a chest to sell resources to other players while offline.

Fix Hero quests.

Gameplay

Increase the duration of the day and night cycle.
a. Currently the duration cycles too frequently to be meaningful. Exact time unmeasured.
b. Proposal to extend cycle to periods of 2 hours each. 2 hours per day, and 2 hours per night.
c. This gives a player incentive to obtain nightvision items or use torches and other lighting extensively. -
Allows Thralls to permanently carry torches at no resource cost.
a. Thralls currently sheathe their torches after a battle.
b. The torch holding should persist in their off-hand after battles.
c. Either thralls do not degrade torches when in use, or create new torch item for thralls so it does not degrade. Perhaps a torch weapon, they can use. -
Allow floor/ceiling tiles to be placed and snap under walls. Added tiles should impact stability like normal.
a. This would allow for hanging building design and increase build complexity. -
Sorcery “demon bat” needs to fly higher and further.
a. Currently the bat flaps its wings 3 times and rises height with each flap.
b. Proposal to increase bat flaps to 5 for better height.
c. Proposal to increase glide speed and distance. -
Faction warpaints should mark the player as non-hostile to corresponding faction.
a. For example, when wearing “Darfari Cannibals” warpaint the player should not be attacked by that faction unless the player starts attacking.
b. Provides utility to warpaint.
c. Make applicable to Thralls.
d. Should be permanent.
6.Return stat boosts to ‘aspect warpaints’.
a. Stat boost warpaints should provide bonus to named trait: Accuracy, Agility, Determination, Grit, Strength, Support, and Vitality.
b. Provides utility to warpaint.
c. Make applicable to Thralls.
d. Should be permanent.

Introduce warpaint removal item.

Return crossbow. Hit hard, slow reload.

Allow bonemounds to spawn permanent zombie thralls.
a. Should be affected by player attributes and perks.
b. Only zombies spawned from a bonemound should heal on damage inflicted, inherently.
c. the strength and level of a Thrall should result in a stronger zombie.
d. Zombies should not be able to level up, because they’re dead. -
There should be a sorcery to heal friendly units.
a. Cost soul essence resource.
b. In universe all magic is corrupting, by requiring a sacrifice it is inherently corrupt. -
Mushrooms should be farmable.

Introduce boats.
a. War type.
b. Transport type. -
Sandbeast should spawn during sandstorm.

Make the world more lively.
a. NPC should interact with environment more.
Pets
-
Fix swift/sturdy fowl/horse.
a. Swift should significantly impact stamina or speed.
b. Sturdy should significantly impact health or strength/ramming damage. -
Elephants should have a lot more health and should be rideable.
a. Elephants should be land tanks.
b. Increase their damage reduction. They drop thick hide.
c. Increase base damage. -
Rhinos should be stronger.
a. Increase health.
b. increase damage reduction.
c. Increase base damage. -
Adjust mount saddles for all mounts.
a. We have light, medium, and heavy saddles. They should have corresponding differences in armor values. For instance, light saddle would give 500 armor, medium saddle gives 1000 armor, and heavy saddle gives 1500 armor.
b. Similarly the saddles should impact the mount’s Weight/speed reduction. Light saddle results in 0.95x travel speed, medium saddle results in 0.90x travel speed, heavy saddle results in 0.85x travel speed.
