# Returning players, IF YOU CAN'T LOG IN, please try this first!

it’s easy to forget the little weird things about AO that give it that special “character”. here’s one of them:

_After selecting your GPU, and resolution…_

_Make sure you’re playing in WINDOWED, or WINDOWED+BORDERLESS, otherwise there’s a good chance you won’t see the character selection part of the screen, and since there’s no music or any other indicators that things are good, it’s easy to think something is broken._
