They rolled back servers that they confirmed were hit by the hacker. Just because you didn’t see a giant wandering around stealing your stuff doesn’t mean he didn’t hit your server.

No one has said anything about the hacker on my server and nothing has been done to it. Since it is an OCE server I heard the hacker reported he couldn’t get into them as no VPN would get his ping low enough to enter.

our entire clan quit along with several other people on the server.
Me and one other person were targeted.

Rollback made me lose more progress than the hacker did while everyone else completely unaffected also lost nearly a week of progress.

Funcom needs to send out a poll or something about having an official wipe before the mount patch. I think a wipe would bring back a lot of people back.

A wipe on most servers might bring some back but would drive off the people that have been on servers since the start. Maybe make some new fresh servers would be the better idea then just a wipe

If a general wipe could be triggered through a request on a forum, what confidence would that inspire on investing time camping armorers 5 days per piece on official servers?

One of a few things going for CE is that it’s a survival game that’s actually not in early access for once, and that offers the certitude of persistence.

Well first of all, I wouldn’t trust the word of a hacker. Especially second hand. And second, people may not even be aware that something was done. Or at least, the people you’ve heard from. Plenty of others may have lost everything, but never told you about it.

Not to mention the fact that it’s extremely common for hackers to leave backdoors and other things in place once they gain access. A rollback may have been warranted just to clean that out.

First of all i’m a single person, not an angry pack of dogs.
Secondly, I wiped myself by quitting an official server. So no, I have no old bone to keep.
Thirdly, I acknowledge your tactical retreat as an acknowledgement that “you know where this is going.”
Considering this post has not recieved a single like, is indicative of something. It smells fishy.

Nobody’s angry. It’s more like nobody gives a frakk.

That being said;

I have been on an official server for 1 and a half years before I quit ,and I saw many many many people come and go. It is a self enforced wipe with boredom (or an adversary with a mental condition) as it’s mechanics.

This right here is the reason I think having a game or server type that never wipes is severely unhealthy and bad practice, people get the idea that what they do in the game should now be permanent and when they inevitably lose said stuff, it becomes hard for them to deal with and let go of.

A game that adheres to a regular wipe schedule is much better for allowing players to not get overly attached to their in game assets, if conan servers all wiped say every month or 2, heck even just every 6 months, then there would be a lot less players complaining about this kind of stuff, If people more easily understood that there in game assets are temporary then maybe they wouldnt hug them so tightly.

I know people will argue against this but I have seen it many times, look at a game like rust, where wipes are a part of life, people don’t get so bummed about rollbacks or having to start from scratch because they understand that is a part of a survival game. Those that truelly don’t want to ever get wiped could always start a private or single player server, But I really feel all official servers should wipe at some point on a schedule so as to avoid this kind of attached mentality that players get.

Just my opinion though so don’t shoot me over it, it is just how I see games like these.

After 1590 got reset the server was packed. Even though we lost a ton of stuff we leveled, fought over locations with basic tools, and had a ton of fun.

Then the next day we went back to toxic clans and hacks. To bad funcom did not pay attention to this.

FYI, dont forget about all the body vaultedvduped mats and God tokins still out there…

Playing right into the hackers hands.

They want you to quit.

But this code injection attack was not something Funcom couldve forseen.

The guilty party or parties could have been sitting on this for years.

Once again a hacker tries to ruin life for the masses.

Leaving will just send a message that people are easy to scare off.

Not impressed with this attack.

At the end its up to you and your clan if you decide to stay or go.

I think wiping of official PVP would be the best thing for the game. Leave PVE and PVEC as the servers that never reset.

The world is filled with many many sad and pathetic individuals man, never underestimate the true stupidity and scummy like behaviour that exists in the online gaming community, especially when a large portion are under the age of 16 and their brains havent even fully developed yet.
