It’s not against the rules, insofar as I know… this is also first time i’ve heard of it.
Unless there’s malicious intent with using the name (slander/griefing) I assume it would be fine, if slightly confusing for the other players.
You’re identified by your FunCom ID, not the Character name.
So Two players with the same character name does happen.
This isn’t even the only game that does this, lots of games with unique ID’s that also allow Secondary Character names allow duplicate player names
The server I was on in 2017 had two “Red Sonja” named characters
in 2020 there was a invasion of Ragnars. In fact it’s been my experience that most of these duplicate name occurrences are of names neither should be using.
I’ve never ran into someone who had a legit original name, that someone else also had on the same server.
