And with that, it’s crystal clear you’re not even interested in arguing in good faith at all. Have fun with all the pretzel-logic, rhetorical tricks, and mental gymnastics, I’m done here.
I don’t like what’s going on around Sepermeru either.
As i don’t like what’s going on around the mount of the dead.
As i don’t like what’s going on in the starting river which is more vital for new players.
As i don’t like what’s going on in the south part of Siptah.
So what i do is take what i need and go as fast as i can.
Through the years i get used to it. And just because i don’t build this way on official servers, i cannot say to others how to have fun. Since they do it, they probably have fun with it, so it’s all i need to know.
Save the world bosses, save the dungeon entrances, save the npc camps, the obelisks, the various farm points and the poi.
For the rest Zendesk exists. Not that i like the report system, i avoid it, but no we cannot ask for the half map to be no build zone in an authentic building game.
But a small part of me really wants what you’re asking .
Yet no, it’s not correct.
This spot has always been favourite building place for various players. Agreed, that naturally it looks awesome. Agreed, that some of players are douchbags, building huge cubic sandstone walls for nothing, because they are not even using that space they claimed. Also those people mostly don’t care about preventing some rare creatures and nodes to spawn there.
Then there are also players, who build nice beach houses there and care enough about respawning and possible blocking of nodes or creatures. On each from those servers of Exiled Lands the Oasis of Nekhet looks different, and that is what I enjoy as well. Sometimes sadly it’s disaster, sometimes the buildings decorate the nature and biome perfectly.
When whoever builds against the rules of officials, there is always the option to report them. As much as I would love to prevent free for all/no limit building opportunities there, it really is not good way to go, via making all of this nice place no build zone.
As was said before in more threads, removing the option to build there would also affect single player for people, who do not want to play with any mods, etc.
Show me. I never gave a no build size for anything but the oasis.
Yes it certainly sounds like you wore your self out only to find out in the end we are in agreement about the majority of POIs.
Ya, I get it, I agreed with you, you realized we are not that far off in opinions about no build zones so you get embarrassed and step out.
And it’s so depressing I try to avoid it. Looks like downtown Dubai, trying to get through is like driving on old gravel roads; put in between properties.
I see I should have muted the thread instead of just setting it to “normal”. But what the heck, since you brought me here one last time…
And what exactly were we talking about in the part that you quoted? Here, let me help you out, and add some emphasis:
Let me spell it out: we were talking about the Oasis of Nekhet. Now I don’t know if it’s negligence that makes you habitually pull thing out of context, e.g. like you did with @Pugilist earlier, or if it’s on purpose, and I don’t care. Whatever the case, it’s no use trying to keep the discussion going like this.
As long as your idea is to make the whole Oasis of Nekhet into a no-build zone to keep it pretty because you like it, we’re nowhere close in our opinions about no-build zones.
But hey, whatever makes you feel better. Now I’m gonna fix my mistake and mute this thread.
Now personally I’d like these proposed no build zones half again bigger, but I was being conservative. For lore stones, emotes, and notes half that size aught to be plenty.
And no I have 0 reason to believe any of this will come about. But I’d bet good money, if funcom opened new PVE servers with bigger more inclusive no build zones, people would flock to them and leave the empire buildings to pave over the old server if they want.
I do agree that the urban sprawl diminishes the game. However i don’t think it’s build zones that are at issue but players. I mean really play this in your head. Oasis is front and center and we create these no build zones. But then we Crowngrove. How can you expect to have the rolling hills, the tall grass and the spash of trees if looks like NYC? Or Stargazer crest with it’s transitions between cold zones and the steep climbs to get the meteors. How is this going to work if you got player bases larger and brighter than the Forgotten Clan’s town?
As others have said, where do you stop it?
I don’t believe your issue is with build zones but players. You only want a higher caliber of builder that takes into account the natural aesthetics of the terrain AND keep all other players in mind when doing so and not take up so much space. That ain’t officials and can never be because officials is the introduction to the game. Yes there are limits that need to be reviewed on an individual case by case but what you are asking for is to make a subset of official servers to behave like private servers.
Best I can tell you is that you either have to come to terms with sharing the game on officials or take the plunge and try out privates and find one that you can trust.
True, I expect too much of my fellow players. Like how to share a public server.
But, like I have said, tolerance is how we got here.
Too many people will be a Dick if give half a chance. I know I’ve been taught better, but apparently I’m fairly unique.
I see this the other way, if you want to build like it’s your private server go to a private server.
If you don’t know how to behave in public maybe you should stay home.
The general consensuses is most here wouldn’t build over the oasis, at most some one might build a beach house, or villa. But for the most part leave it open. Why is that? Because we know just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.
At this point i’d say close down the public PvE and Conflict servers, and make them rent only.
The people turning Sepermeru into a slum are kind of already playing single player, so just get it over with. The current meta in my server is impenetrable cubes that block spawns or convenient areas. Never understood why. No one is going to blow up your sand stone palace. There’s also the wonderful people that build mega castles that drop the framerate to single digits/crash on Xbox.
Failing that, I’ll take the increase the no build zones.
Ah no. Officials are the gateway and have value in that. You don’t have to play in them and your solution is to remove them from everyone because your game is impacted. That’s not how this should work.
Thank you, you changed my mind: keep the public servers open FOREVER and remove all build restrictions and moderation. The prayer base is great and can be trusted without moderation.
