Sharkbait, Oohhaha!

Also my feeling when i saw it.
Descent of Dagon is a good hint i think, and would make sens. If you look at the buildings showed, they look jungle like, no doubt.

If I remember correctly Funcom said jhebbal sag was the last religion which also implies the last god.
But not the last dungeon.

You cannot “throw” anything underwater with any sort of efficiency. A crossbow maybe but the drag on the tether would be to intense. This is why we use harpoons or other gun powder/gas propelled projectiles always and forever throughout history. A javelin or a spear works because a thrust of the arm causes less drag (but there is still significant drag).

I can’t re-spawn if killed, open wounds don’t heal from food and drink alone in seconds, and I can can’t carry 5000 lbs. There will be creative decisions on mechanics for fun factor. That is why it is called a game.

See this is where I’d like to see a little more diversity in our medical care. We used to carry Super Glue to patch up bleeding flesh wounds, did it to a dude’s scalp while on a forced march. (He’d dropped his helmet off his standing locker and it cut the crown of his bean badly.) Point is, you’re right about the old give and take – I’d like a salve (not a potion) we can apply to bleeds while on the run. For now, have you tried poking people underwater? I have not had the opportunity.

javelin works nicely.
I like to think of the potions as sorcery. Which means we have had sorcery in the game all along
And for all the talk about drag, this is scientific proof drag is not an issue…

wonderful one of those people. No, in fact the GDC has covered this more times then I cared to listen to. Unless thoroughly explained such as how healing is done via magic, potions, food or wraps which have a description that tell you they heal you via certain properties, unless that then it never works out. People require a level of realism in video games and the market knows it. You dont, but the developers do so there is that. You cannot ever just slap something in a game and say “ha! its here because its a game, ahaha!” ROFL. LOL i mean you could and then you end up with a parody game.

I never said just slap something in. I said creative decision. Big difference. IE, i don’t expect star ships to come in as the new god. But being over realistic can kill fun. Imagine having to carry and build 1 brick at a time…lay on brick, apply grout (or mortar), lay another brick. Creatively, Funcom decide how about we craft whole foundations and lay them down to build. But wait, the foundation would be to heavy for 1 human to carry. Funcom decided, hey what about encumbrance ratings and that is how a RL mechanic is made fun.

And for water, the heavier person would over time sink before a person with only a javelin on them. Imagine ni real life wearing silent legion and diving into water. good luck resurfacing.

I am in two minds about this. I actually really like the idea of having Sharks and Oscars on the far Eastern side of the map where the ocean begins, I just feel a little too safe swimming in the sea.
However…

However Shadoza’s point of view also resonates with me. There should absolutely not be any Sharks in the Newbie River area! For a new player, the simple act of surviving a river crossing should not be a game of chance.

The Sons and daughters of Dagon are hidden no longer.

Now this is interesting. Are we simply going to be doing battle with Dagon worhippers, or is his religion going to be learnable? I know that Funcom previously stated that there would be no more religions after JhebbelSag, however maybe, just maybe they threw us a curveball. My goodness I hope that its the later. I adore this games religion system and just cant seem to get enough of it.

That is just simply false.
Crocodiles can, and will attack things underwater.
Here are three google results. Took me about 5 minutes.

So…if we are going to be having Sharks introduced into the game, perhaps we might be able to persuade Funcom (if they havent already) to create a new type of placeable ‘trophy’? We cound create this using the components harvested from their bodies.

Ps- I am also hopeful that this will result in the creation of a ‘Specialist Cooking 11’, which will feature recipes involving the Sharks and Oscars.
