Shield Block Not Working Or I'm Not

Wondering if shield block isn’t a thing anymore or if I’m just not doing it right, but when I try to just block with my shield, using right mouse, I go into the power attack. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve tried looking online and everything I have found says to hold right mouse.

Isnt the shield button left control, or left alt, same as the kick?

Its been so long since I used a shield I cant remember correctly but I think that’s what it is.
