So I run a RP server and most of us have alternate characters that can only be played by using an alternative PSN for the same server. Unfortunately when we buy store content for one character, it is not shared across all of our characters like the DLC packs used to be. Which is really expensive as we have to buy the same packs two to three times if we want the content shared across our characters. Could you maybe allow us to make multiple characters under the same PSN for roleplay / gameplay purposes?

Items purchased on consoles are usually locked to the account that purchased it. It’s a PlayStation / Xbox thing, not Funcom
Oddly enough the DLC packs on PSN work for every account on that console.
Black Lotus Bazaar and Battlepass items are linked to the Funcom Live Service. That’s probably the main reason. Brain is a little foggy. Tired

yah its the same with steam accounts. the stuff is ‘owned’ by your account, not your device.

Still I am hoping they add a multiple characters per server option for roleplayers, which is the main focus of the thread.
As Lucidique stated, its a Funcom Live Service thing. More specifically a Microsoft Playfab thing which FLS ties into. Playfab not only doesn’t really support offline authentication, but even recommends developers do not do so for security reasons.
I’m not suggesting I agree with that, I’m just saying what I’ve seen on questions and troubleshooting I’ve seen involving Playfab and the responses given from Microsoft reps. But whatever system Microsoft uses for Playfab doesn’t make it easy.

Not going to happen as a standard setting on the game because of the level of abuse it would get in PvP, PvEC environments.
It would have to be a server setting and they would have to formalize the FCL accounts and regulations within.
In their defense, they did ask for it to be an option. I suspect if we did get multiple characters per server the owner would get to select how many per account.
Otherwise… those servers with discords holding 1200-2500 members would be wrecked if everyone made 3-5 more characters lol.
I personally don’t see much abuse potential since your handle is still over your head with your character name. PVPers already tend to keep detailed information about their foes and rivals already.

This is the exact reason. The same could be said for any game. DLC is always shared, but in-game store items are ALWAYS account bound. It’s likely one of the reasons they decided to go to the bazaar option. Not to mention, it’s easier to update, monetize, etc. There’s benefits to the in-game store, just as there’s drawbacks to it as well. One obviously being not able to share purchases. I’ve never played a single game that had a shared in-game store purchase across multiple accounts.
