Hey i was thinking maybe we should still have the weapon or weapon and shield bonus we get from some still applie while being sheathed, by sheathed i mean actually on the characters body with the new mechanics of sheathing.
So far i can’t think of any real reason not to allow us to keep our stat bonus as long as the weapons sheathed on us
Once you actually put it away and take it off you then the bonus should disappear.
Maybe I’m missing something that would make this a bad idea, who knows lol but anyone else feel we should or shouldn’t keep to bonus of sheathed weapons?
I figure the stats should still apply for players like yourself that turn it off as well, the check box just makes the sheathed weapons invisible on the player pretty much, so they are still there
This option should remain aestethic only. No point having the buffs applied if you don’t even use the weapon. With this logic, every thing in your hotbar would have their effect with you.
Unless something changed while I wasn’t paying attention, walking while wielding and walking while sheathed have different speeds. Likewise, going from sheathed to wielding requires an animation.
What I’m trying to point out here is that the effects you get from wielding come at a cost. Your idea would eliminate that cost.
Whether that’s desirable or undesirable in PVP is something others can answer better than I can.
Ah true, eliminating that cost may cause issue, that’s why i knew i was missing a thing or two on the mechanic myself.
Although one thing i would love to see is an actual dedicated weapon slot for us to have that doesn’t remove our weapon from our back or hip when using a tool, maybe if that was implemented we could see a few things change in terms of stat bonuses applying say just to that weapon in the weapon slot.
This. I think the angle or change in distance of the camera makes it look like different speeds. Kinda like when you play a tall race vs a short one in many MMORPGs.
They do glow when put on your back. Glimmer moon (I think that’s the name) is amazing. It allows you to have a light and drag a thrall at the same time. Or use a shield in a dark dungeon. Or climb and harvest with a light. If I’m remembering right it’s also super light weight.
It’s one of the few weapons I always carry if I have one.
I wonder how these two things interact? Does this mean that if I disable the sheath and I sheathe my Glimmermoon, a player who has the sheath enable will be able to see me in the dark?
What??? Sure you can walk while carrying your weapons - unless you mean swinging or attacking with them - then it depends on the weapon. If you use a controller you can walk with weapons in hand at any speed slow to normal. So slow in fact, it can take a full minute for a single step.
I don’t think his setting affects your character. If you have it enabled he can see you better though, for sure.
I was referring to walking mode, which is a specific speed toggled on keyboard. When weapons are drawn, it is automatically untoggled and cannot be toggled again until the weapons are put away.
Ask a modder for it, but have no sense, how it will works?
If i have disabled and i hit a guy but blocked, how i imagine the weapon or shield he have? Lol we have no sheath animation yet so how do you think this is a good idea
