This here is where I must disagree, based on empirical evidence. In any protracted engagement, thralls inevitably stop attacking, or get stunlocked, or spend quality time eating grass if the opponent has a knockdown attack, whereas with the “new” stamina regeneration I can maintain a constant pressure on any opponent(s) with a few well-timed dodges to keep myself active. In a multi-opponent environment I regularly put down two, maybe three, adversaries by the time my thrall finishes one. And if the poor thrall has to face two opponents at the same time, their DPS falls to abysmal levels because good old Unnamed city skeletons complete two full combos each on the idiot while he’s pondering upon which one to hit first like Buridan’s ass.
In a research laboratory environment, the numbers are clearly in the thrall’s favor. Out in the field, the skill of a human player outweighs the numerical advantage.
On official servers yes However those are never representative of what the game is actually like (unfortunately) The whole game plays completely differently on a decent private servers and you barely get any issues of the “getting stuck” "confused’ AI.
Things can still happen ofc.
Now in multi-opponent situations it’s true that they can get stunlocked, but yet again that has nothing to do with “hitting hard” like I said earlier, nobody was debating that the thrall is a better player than the player…
If the initial statement would have been something like “The player can approach things in a smart way and dodge so they have a better chance of completing certain encounters” then I would’ve never even replied to that, since I agree and probably so does everybody else, but that’s not what happened here.
No young man it’s farewell! I won’t bother you again, i am here to have fun and speak with friends. You are not a person i would like to bother anymore, you simply don’t worth it, so farewell it is.
I play solely on Single-Player, and my thralls regularly suffer from acute cases of imbecility. The encounters where I finish off two or three opponents while my thrall manages one are from my SP game. I’m getting decent performance otherwise, so lack of proper hardware shouldn’t be the problem.
I believe this is by design. They are thralls, not heroes. Even with War Party the combined effort of the followers will never exceed that of a similarly equipped player.
Single player and private servers have a big difference in performance (Depending on your internet). I have run several and am currently running a server. There are settings and tweaks you can do that make the game run 1000% better. As far as thrall behavior, they have a hidden cooldown to prevent them from being unstoppable killing machines.
