This is a lvl 23 Feat, but it should be accessible early in the game… maybe separate this feat from the larger silk tents recipe, but the simple tent should definitely be available right as you start, it takes the most basic materials to craft, fiber, branches and stone I think…

There used to be leantos that you could craft right off the bat but they were remove$ for some reason.
On the bright side, untill (if) they get those back in, you can always lean against a cliff for some cover.
Well yeah, but thats not the point, Im questioning why a tent made of Fiber and branch is only available at lvl 23, almost half way through your progression, where it would be quite useful early in the game?
because they are intended to be decorative.
