are you aware that tomorow the game goes to UE5 for official PC servers ? and that they have already merged siptah servers at restart this morning into exiles land servers in preparation , servers should also now have been upgraded to UE5 , so even without a password I don’t think you would’ve been able to log into them ( version mismatch ) .
I’m pretty sure the whole ‘password’ thing is just so that admins can access the servers post update to check things are as they should be. That makes the most sense. Otherwise it’s just a simplified way of keeping the servers ‘locked’ until they go live at the proper time tomorrow.

Probably worth mentioning that Inflexion (one of whose staff memebers has confirmed on discord Inflexion is now the developers for CE, with Funcom remaining as the publisher) is apparently based in Edmonton, Canada. So it’s entirely possible that we may be waiting on their time rather than Norwegian time. So may need a bit more patience. Sorry to be the bearer of potential bad news.
