# Single player not starting

Game mode: Singleplayer  
Problem: Crash  
Region: EU

So my single player only loads but then crashes and never actually starting.  
What could be the problem?

Steps on how to reproduce issue:  
1.Press single player  
2. Press offline  
3. Wait for loading  
4. Crash

I had this issue twice and had to start over both times. My theory is where I built gigantic bases and logged off inside them. When I tried to log back on I think the game couldn’t load my structure and decorations fast enough causing it to crash. I don’t have a remedy for you sadly but a suggestion is make a backup save on a usb Zip drive and make it where your character is at real low traffic area so it can load easier. To do this plug the Zip drive into your PlayStation and copy your current save file to the stick. That way if you crash and can’t get back in you can delete that save and copy your backup back to the PlayStation and at least not lose everything.
