I knew I saw it somewhere - please see the final sentence of this copied section of text:
Official Servers: If you play on an official UE4 Exiled Lands server on Steam, your server will be updated to UE5 with everything carrying forward in the update. Your character, followers, and bases should not be affected. This does not apply to Isle of Siptah servers, however. The island itself has been merged with the Exiled Lands, which allows for a better experience in switching between the two maps, but this required a change to the physical coordinates of the island. As such, bases on the Isle of Siptah cannot be preserved in the UE5 update. You can prepare for this in a couple of ways:
The best option for Isle of Siptah players is to prepare for the UE5 update by dismantling their bases and depositing the materials in the inventories of their followers prior to the Official server downtime on May 4th, 15:00 UTC. If they are in a clan, it is recommended they leave the clan and use the thrall and pet trading posts to transfer ownership of followers to their individual characters. Once the update to UE5 happens, they will be moved to an Exiled Lands server, along with their followers, at which point they can make their way back to the Isle of Siptah to rebuild.
Alternatively, players can simply wait until the update, at which point their characters will be migrated via Server Merge to an Exiled Lands server, maintaining character level, progress, followers, and inventory, but dropping them at a new character spawn point in the Exiled Lands. Please note that, with this option, bases will be lost and players will not retain the materials to rebuild. We will post a mapping of which Exiled Lands servers each Isle of Siptah server is being merged to, so that players can find their new servers.
Doesn’t answer everything, but suggests you should at least be able to get some of the information.
oh thanks danquixote, so at least charecters of siptah will not be lost, but what will be the server merge ? i mean 5th may its in very short time, all infos should be publish now to understand the full situation
I guess my real concern is… how do I know some forgotten level 5 Siptah character of mine isn’t going to overwrite my level 60 Exiled lands character ?
The higher level character will be saved and overwrite a lower level one.
Now using common sense here , i would presume an IOS character that is the same level as an exiled lands character, the server selection will choose another EL server - right Funcom?
And just to be sure ill be deleting all lower level toons across EL maps. I had alot.
If you hit Recreate Character, it will delete your old character and allow you to transfer in with the new character. That works for me since I am wanting to delete a scout character. Just tested it a few moments ago and it worked for me.
Way in the past, we had to make sure one player was in the clan we wanted to merge into while other players transferred onto the server one at a time. We also had to keep an eye on thrall count since losing a clan member causes the thrall limit to drop by 15 thralls until the new transfer joins. Transfers had to join back into the clan before thralls started to get auto deleted due to being over the thrall limit. I assume these issues will be the same as they were in the past but I won’t have a way to confirm for you guys. We are just transferring, not merging into another clan.
