I am very appreciative of the developers for continuing to support this game, especially after the release of the Enhanced Edition. This game truly deserves all the attention it gets. It is one of the most unique, and honestly one of the best, survival experiences out there. Not only that, but it also stands as a fantastic RPG. I really hope the development team continues to provide new content and updates to give this game the longevity it deserves.
I’m especially hopeful for future content such as map expansions, perhaps featuring regions like Hyborea or other new areas inspired by the Conan universe. Any kind of map expansion would be an incredible addition to the game, and I’m sure the community would greatly appreciate it. Beyond that, any new content is always welcome. Keep up the great work, developers. Conan Exiles is a fantastic game.
PS: Please consider creating a new Conan Universe game similar to Conan Exiles, but perhaps set outside the Exiled Lands. That would create even more opportunities to explore the incredible storytelling and rich lore behind Conan the Barbarian and its universe. Conan Exiles was clearly the beginning of something special, and I truly believe it could grow into something even bigger. It’s been one of my favorite games of the past eight years since it’s release.
Unfortunately, as is often the case in the gaming industry, the people that made it great… don’t even work there anymore. They probably got fired, because they cared. They cared, so they wouldn’t roll over for the corpo that showed up after what they built was a huge success.
It’s the oldest story in gaming.
Some people really passionate about what they do have a vision. They manage to execute that vision. Then corpo types show up and start manipulating the people that had the vision. Those good folks push back… and get fired. This repeats until all that is left is soul-less clock punchers. They are incapable of producing something amazing, because it takes passionate people that care to do that… and passionate people don’t “fit” in corpoville.
On one hand, I’d like to be naive and think that there is something amazing coming in conan’s future. Yet a lifetime of experience tells me there is almost no chance of that happening. The past few weeks of updates breaking more than they fix is a strong indicator of who’s left and what their mindset is.
I’d love to just play the game and have fun… but running into over a DOZEN game-breaking bugs every play session… makes it hard to ignore. Playing the game has become standing around trying 10 “tricks” to get my thrall to actually come out of the dungeon I was just in. Or getting visually assaulted by hair and garments stretching all over the screen from the enemies I just killed. Or having my thralls animation break so they just float around with one arm sticking out. Or be trying to fight some enemies with my thralls, when all I see is my thralls name and health information filling my entire view and I can’t even see the enemies in the fight. Or walking outside and getting flashbanged every single time. Or tavern thralls spawning INSIDE foundations and on top of roofs everywhere… Or getting literally trapped inside dungeons and having to admin myself and/or my thralls out. Or if I dare walk out of render range from my large campfire or my fluid press… EVERYTHING in there will spoil within minutes/seconds… even though the timer said I had HOURS.
I could go on and on.
At the end of the day, the persistence of those bugs and continual addition of more bugs means that even if they DID make something new… it will be unplayable anyway.
Sorry, but I’m extremely irritated at the state of things.
sadly it feels like the spirit of the original game started to slowly die when tencent purchased Funcom, the updates where fun but the predatory bazaar prices, the short lived battlepass (probably axed it because it wasn’t bringing enough money in, I.E players bought the first one then used the Coins to purchase every other pass after that without spending any more money) you are %100 correct corpos come in and destroy everything they touch for profit
