The lack of any low level offensive spells is a problem.
The only real offensive spells we have that are of use require 40% corruption and a long, elaborate casting to pull off.
I think they need to add another branch of spells.
Possession.
At a basic level you can call a nearby animal or human to aid you.
At 20% corruption you could call 2 or 3 to aid you.
At 40% corruption you could call 4 or 5 to aid you. Or even a mini boss.
This wouldn’t be summoning, but possessing available mobs.
As for the taking on permanent corruption, there is no real benefit. Most of the perks don’t really add a lot.
Sorcerers make the sacrifice for great power. Exiles make the sacrifice to pick up a lot of rocks quickly.
What i would love to see is for every 2 points of permanent corruption you take, you receive an extra attribute point up to a max of 10.
Additionally every point of permanent corruption could give a 4 or 5% damage reduction while casting plus an increasing chance to not have your casting broken due to being attacked.
Maybe to have access to these abilities you need to have a phylactory as suggested above.
Could be obtained through a ritual performed at max permanent corruption involving sacrificial blood, the keystone, khari steel, rusty scraps, scales and black blood. Maybe needs to be performed on an alter at the end of a new dungeon.
Thats a big effort to go through but the benefits would justify the sacrifice.
