I also have this bug in the volcano area, as well as the problem of my thralls getting stuck. I confirmed this is not a mod issue as it happens with all of my mods disabled and has only been a problem since the last patch. I can use the teleporters everywhere else they are placed, but attempting to ignite the one in my volcano base gives this error. I suspect the last mod screwed up something with the tiles above a certain altitude, as my followers also get stuck just outside the volcano near the entrance by the frost giant dungeon, as soon as I start climbing above the frost giant camp. ---

how does one measure exact coordinates? I didnt know that was possible without mods. ---

Hey, Sure thing, here are the steps to do so: - Hold down the following keys - Right Control, Right Shift, Right Alt - Hit the L key while holding the above keys - After a small window pops with the coordinates, release all keys - Press Left Ctrl+C to copy the text - Post the coordinates with Ctrl+V We appreciate your assistance. ---

There must be some bug with the volcano. We have a base near the volcano and cannot place thralls/horses after patch. We also cannot learn or do any sorcery getting the bug for too far away. I think the last patch bugged out any base near or around the volcano. ---

I had the "Too Far Away " Message when trying to ignite a new transportory stone on the back side of Skyfall Ridge (on top of the ridge where where the rams are but in the shadow of the highest part so it never gets hit by meteors). It also would not let me place an entertainer, no matter where I tried to place it, it said it had to be placed on “walkable ground”, that included inside the building and anywhere just about I tried to place it outside. I Had successfully added 2 transportory stones earlier today down south in the desert zones with out any problems. Official PVE Server. 1737 ---

Yeah, those two bugs “thralls must be placed on walkable ground” and “sorcery benches dont work (too far away)” seem to be related as they appear in same areas. And someone suggested it has something to do with altitude rather than position on the map. So far it seems it could be the case. I tried placing stuff on one of the icy ridges, didnt work. But it did work on the foot of said ridge. At any rate, the problems appear in the high areas around (and possibly in) the volcano ---

It seems that the same happens on all platforms, in some regions, such as volcano, it is possible to place benches, but minions protecting and activating spells cannot, the error of “being too far away” always appears. In reality, it seems like Funcom doesn’t care about the bugs, the best solution is to show them who pays the bills, just for the players to stop buying bazaar and they can fix the bugs. ---

I know this was a HUGE problem back in the Age of Sorcery (I think chapter 2 and 3 honestly). Didn’t matter what location, I’ve had it happen down on noob river and the jungle. But I haven’t been using Sorcery lately (though my one character is about to start so I guess I’ll find out soon enough if it’s still an issue outside of the volcano, if so I’ll let you know). ---

Can confirm… placing thrawls and summoning corpse are not possible in some locations. can place thrawls in desert no problem. i wonder if it is altitude… make a tower super tall in nube river and see what elevation things stop working. anyone bored enough to try that ? ---

Here is my logfile. Posted it first in another thread. I started the game and apart from moving and opening doors, did only the following: tried to use shallow grave ritual once (error: too far away) tried to use circle of power ritual once (error: too far away) tried to ignite transportory stone once; (error: too far away) Ordered a thrall thats sunk into the floor to follow me Tried to order that thrall to move couple times (cannot move) Then tried to “place and guard” that thrall (error: must be placed on walkable floor) Ordered the thrall to stop following and then shut the game. How to reproduce: Build a transportory stone in the affected area. Ignite it. Close the game and restart it Try to extinguish the transportory stone - you will get the error ps. The bug exists in same form even in singleplayer ---
