I was unable to play the game for several months due to life stuff and am back again. One of my really elaborate structures disappeared unfortunately. Is this a bug or part of the decay system?
As the title says, this happened in offline single player. Building abandonment was/is turned off. Two of my other structures remain intact. Lastly, when I first logged on recently, I saw some of the statues used in my structure floating where they used to be, but they would disappear as I got closer. Two loot bags dropped with some building materials after loading in as well. I love this game so much, so I will continue building and playing. I just wish my castle over the water was back. Thanks for any help!
During the last few months, some major updates and patches have been released including an âentanglementâ wipe.
Basically, if you used the method of having foundation fences bisect a block area, â+â, then those were wiped and could have caused stability issues with your structures.
Are those squares on the map a block area? Does that just mean donât build a structure that crosses the lines?
Maybe I am wrong too. I would like more information if I am.
Edit: I looked into it a little and sure enough, it was the only structure that had crossed a line, so I am guessing that is what to avoid in the future. Now I just wanna know why it creates a problem out of curiosity.
Do you mean the lines on the player map that make up the grid pattern? as no building over those lines should not cause issues. The grid lines are not real lines in game, they are simply there to segment the map into regions, i.e C3, to help with navigating the map and listing coordinates and such. Itâs more likely that with all the patching over the last few months there may have been in a change to some structure pieces you were using which resulted in instability. It is also possible that there was a problem/ corruption of certain files in your local save. When you play a single player version of Conan it saves to your local machine, in other words when you start a single player games and then log in on another device/PC you will not be able to go to the same single player game unless you copy and transfer the save files, the same way as it would work for most single player games.
So perhaps during patching and updating something got altered in your local game save file which resulted in your structures disappearing.
I liked my theory better because it put me at ease and kinda made sense too. Now I am back to ânobody seems to really knowâ status. I hope my newest building doesnât disappear just 'cos. D:
I get that lol, but it is highly unlikely to be the cause, I have never heard seen or read anyone else have an issue with such a thing, I have had bases that lie over the grid line many times and never had this happen to me.
I have however experienced structures that disappeared in single player before and not from decay as I turn decay off in single player. Sometimes it happens, it is frustrating but atleast it wonât happen often. It isnât a common occurrence.
