I recently saw the Stygian Thaumaturge table and I didn’t buy it because I thought it belonged to a package that I would buy later if it came out.
My surprise was that after entering a private administrator server I saw that there are objects related to Stygian witchcraft such as the sacrificial stone, a staff and more.
Does anyone know if this package has already been released or if not, is there a date like the Kambujano pack?
No problem. I’ve been playing since early access. I have all of the DLC packs and the Siptah expansion, all purchased at full price the day they came out. I just despise the BLB and what it represents and the utter money grabbing tactics while degrading the value offered to the customer.
I didn’t say degrading the client, I said degrading the VALUE OFFERED to the customer. They no longer sell complete sets for one, they offer a “build set” but it’s not a complete build set, and it cost WAY THE FVCK MORE than is even remotely reasonable for what is being offered. That is just one example of how they have degraded the value being offered. For another example when the DLC packs came out you didn’t really worry about what you got, basically everything in it worked day one. These BLB items, ffs some of them do not work six months after having been purchased. Or at least they do not work consistently, or as advertised. So that there is another way in which the value being offered to the customer has been degraded. What you once received for the money you spent is no longer what you can expect to receive for the money you spend, regardless of the price associated with it. The sets are not complete, the items do not reliably work and you are forced to convert real world money into fake currency that will ALWAYS leave you with just a little bit extra in your “digital wallet” in order to temp you to “top off your wallet and buy more Crom Coins” to buy more incomplete and inoperable yet “pretty” things. It is an absolutely disgusting business practice that I will not support.
My experience is that not all the articles are bad, far from it, but it is true that your arguments are very accurate, but the comparisons are odious, they have ruled out Conan for new projects (which I do not understand) and I imagine that the personnel and financial resources are not enough to make packages as complete as before with the reduced price.
But if we buy what we had versus what we have, there is a huge difference.
There is a difference though. They could have continued the culture pack DLC model and raised the prices. Inflation is in fact a thing, and the prices of those packs had never increased even after what, 4 or 5 years? So it is not at all unreasonable to expect a price increase while maintaining the same value offered service.
However, this was when Tencent bought out Funcom. Tencent doesn’t like value for money, they like to milk their players dry until said game dies and then shut it down and move on to the next thing. At that same time that they claimed they HAD TO move to this new Battle Pass and BLB system (which they already got rid of the whole battle pass part of) they also started to downsize the team working on Conan Exiles by larger degrees. Not just on the development side but even here on the forums (they pretty much have abandoned the forum at this rate, their very own OFFICIAL FORUMS and they don’t even bother to announce anything here leaving us in the dark). And now that their “big new shinny toy” has flopped and is pulling less numbers on Steam than Conan Exiles do you think they put their staff back into this game? Nope! They just let them all go due to “downsizing” and “redundancy”. Tencent only cares about taking as much cash from the people who play the games they buy up while doing next to nothing to actually warrant anyone supporting their games let along shelling out their hard earned money. So yet again, it is a disgusting business practice which I cannot and will not support.
