Elephants, rhinos, other heavy tanks destroying smaller rocks and trees.
Canines and felines (and basically any enemy) jumping on/off of ledges.
Apes, leopards climbing trees. And having the ability to use one handed weapons on climbable surfaces while not climbing just hanging one place (underwater and mounted combat already exists).

Do we really need reality on elephants? Imagine thunder foot to chase you on exile lands, nothing will stay on, everything will be demolished 
. Not to mention that some times of the year the male have 5 feet and not 4 
.
@ValiantBarbarian, nice suggestions, not the first time we read them yet I always agree.
However I agree to the statement that some parts of reality is best to stay out of game. I can see the challenge and fun for me, yet I can see the frustration of others too and I don’t want it. But I would love it, really!

As long as we can wedge ourselves into spaces when the terrain allows to regain stamina when climbing. Climbing ropes would be nice also and grapples. I would also like to be able to slightly kickout while climbing to hit these things that would be climbing behind me.

At least enemy NPC need more ranged type attacks to counter climbing\swiming abuse by players who jsut stand on the rock and fire poison arrows D
That is a whole other issue really, imo. I never really saw it to be necessary for poisonous gas to explosive. Poison gas is already extremely powerful it doesn’t to be have anything secondary attached to it. It already get through buildings still to kill or damage all living inside, ever heard of sealing cracks guys ??
Back on response, agreed more defensive traps and other defensive measures are needed for players. Back to OP I think @ValiantBarbarian was referring more to PvE encounters though I can be mistaken in this as in more real and interesting behaviors and abilities of npcs .
More niches when climbing would be great, maybe even use them to resource caves with spiders as a bonus for finding them.
