Sword & Serpent is a new RPVP server which proudly embraces the barbarism of Conan. Warfare does not ask for consent. The world and all things in it seek to devour you. Your tribe gathers in huts, circling the dim light of a fire instead of the massive walls of a fortress. Our server tries to immerse our players in a realm of mythic savagery, where primitive barbarians fear the ancient, evil towers of sorcerers that look out over the untamed wilds.
Our settings and rules are designed to sharpen the danger and ground the fantasy firmly in Conan’s barbaric roots. Drop on death is active, PVP is constant, buildings decay, harvesting is slow, starvation is high, nights are long. As role players, we understand that the best storytelling comes when the full range of the human experience is woven together. Conquer your fear of the night. Embrace your lusts and bloodlusts. As winter falls upon the Exiled Lands, famine threatens to consume the tribes which scratch and scavenge in the dirt and dust. Loved ones waste away, and even the cannibals grow lean and rabid with hunger. Is this how it ends? Not with the riot of battle, but with the dull weight of starvation? Then, through the Ghost Fence they come. A herd of great mammoths, drawn through the unnatural, accursed sorcery of the curse wall by the promise of ungrazed grasses. The tribes ready their spears. The mammoth is perilous prey, and your kin will not be the only exiles fighting for the precious meat.

Event
LORD OF BEASTS is a competitive event hosted by the Sword & Serpent server. Exiles will race north to the highland regions in pursuit of the mammoths there, and slay them to gather enough meat to survive the coming winter.
Rules will be as follows:
The event will begin on Saturday, July 21st at 4pm EST, and run until 8pm on the S&S server.
All participants must create new characters, with lore-friendly names.
Participants must either join a fresh tribe or make their own solo tribe.
Tribes may either hunt the animals for the heads, or steal them through combat.
The tribe which collects the most mammoth heads by 8pm will be declared the winner.

Work always continues on our server. This passed week, a new economy was implemented, allowing players to use (non-craftable) gold and silver coins as currency when interacting with NPCs scattered throughout the world. Trade routes and interplayer exchange add a new level of depth to the immersive experience:
Tomorrow, Sword & Serpent will be hosting an event to celebrate the release of our first storyline quest: Feast of Flesh! Join us at 5pm EST tomorrow when the quest will be first activated. The first team to successfully complete it will receive 150 gold coins to use on the server, in addition to the quest’s normal rewards.
