I had put down CE since beta, but I picked it up today to check out the updates. I joined the server
SynergyCommunity/6xALL/NoMods.
I was so excited to get started!
Loading in I found the server rules. The rules sounded clear and reasonable. It did not seem anything more needed to be said about the rules. After spending my morning scouting a location; finally, I found my spot and had established my base foundation. I was in the process of pre-fabricating the walls when the server Admin Koki started spamming the rules. Koki, insists everyone join Discord:

So fine, I did. I love getting to know the game community, but I am not sure about being forced to get to know the game community. I get it, rules help the community run better. I saw the rules posted again in the starting area after the loading message, and then again more rules posted on signs. As I explored I found Koki had massive signes in people’s bases saying how they had violated the rules. This seems like they use humiliation as a teaching tool. It’s become more clear that Koki is a bully, and “they” like ruling the people that play their server.
Koki insisted everyone use in-game chat, and discord. attached is a SS of that conversation.
In that conversation I said I didn’t want to have my chat window enabled IG, so Koki server banned me with not so much as a warning. I am happy I found out what type of admin Koki is before I invested hours and hours.
Save yourself the unfortunate waste of time, please avoid Koki and SynergyCommunity/6xALL/NoMods.
Come play on darksun. Im the only admin and I refuse to do anything unless someone gets walled in or someone walls in a point of interest. The server is super hard, but super rewarding.
it seems to be a community server, was it advertised as such before you joined or how did you find about this server? You stated that you don’t feel like being part of his community, he said sorry this server is not for you then.
About the signs, if people have private steam profiles and didn’t join discord, the admin has no way of contacting them unless he can catch them online. Maybe he tried contacting them and after he couldn’t, he left the signs?
Extra rules on signs, I have no explanation to that.
Long story short, every coin has two sides and maybe there is a good explanation about all this. I am sorry that you didn’t find what you a looking for on that server. Maybe having a quick chat with your future admin and a bit of research will help you find a more suitable server.

This is incorrect and your assumptions, about a person you know not, are irrelevant to this story. Discord and Koki’s rules are two separate matters. Koki said on the sign he was punishing the person for their violation, not their inability to communicate on Discord. Discord and in-game chat was a conversation between Koki and I.
This is incorrect. I did research and communicate. In fact, it was me that took the time to privately message the admin, Koki.
There is a vast gap between having a structured environment and exercising unneeded authority. Kicking people from servers without cause, and disrespecting other’s personal space is unneeded authority. Defending such action in the name of being objective is defending toxic behavior.
I said to the admin I didn’t want to have my chat window enabled in-game. For me, the chat window breaks the immersion. In my opinion, the UI needs a general workover in CE. The in-game chat window has been a topic since BETA. But, hey, that is another matter.
The matter here is compassion (or lack thereof). We need to take time to be compassionate to those around you, in our various gaming communities and our daily lives. I share this message, so others do not have their gameplay and efforts altered by bullies.
