• You will find an ugly person more attractive if they smile.
• You will find a beautiful person less attractive if they aren’t smiling.

→ You will still find the frowning beauty more attractive than the smiling abomination, especially at first because how attractive we find someone is indeed influenced by our experiences with this person.
