What is causing target lock to switch to targets I didn’t select? Is there some key combination I’m pressing without realizing, or is there some algorithmic wisdom in prioritizing some archer 20m away over the guy I was about to take down the next hit, who is now whacking me in the haunches unto death?!?
In crowd battles it gets even crazier, as I switch targets in fractions of a second so slender that I can’t even stay oriented enough to take evasive action. This target lock seems to have limited utility if there are such limited circumstances in which I can predict its operation. Why can’t I just select a target and only that target until I unlock or select another?
Eh if its PvP lock on needs removed all together… built in aim bot clicking game. No skill system for pvp for trash players to get a bit of luck or spam daggers and get a lazy kill. PvE that is arguable i can see that but on players absolutely not
Not using a ranged build and never have, but I’d agree with it being cheap in that case. Melee requires so much maneuvering, esp with multiple or massive enemies, that it’s not simply bot-clicking. However, your unsolicited opinion doesn’t address the target-lock issue described above.
I tried turning off the ‘auto face attacker’ option, but the problem still persists: I can’t keep a sensible lock on a target I select. This is pure interface screw, making multiple-meele fray more dangerous than it needs to be.
So idealy the lock on is made to swap targets by flinging the mouse hard. It has always been somthing I disliked about the lock on system. I think it should would be cool to have a lil check box to disable that part of it.
“Flinging the mouse”? I don’t know what that means, but I tried adjusting mouse sensitivity up and down to see whether that reduces ‘fling’. I also tried not moving my mouse, but I’m using LMB to attack, so tiny movements are inevitable. It seems any little twitch of motion registers as a ‘fling’ no matter how sensitivity is set.
