I want to express my huge gratitude for the fact that you have restricted Russian players from accessing new servers and the forum, and now they can only play through a VPN. Thank you very much. Not to get into politics here but I was under the impression the Russian internet is more a kind of an intranet by now. Are you sure it’s funcom’s fault?
Dude. I’m from Russia. Doesn’t it bother you that over the past year our government has blocked our access to YouTube, Discord, Instagram, Twitter, and about a hundred other platforms? Doesn’t it bother you that they’re already planning to block Steam? Doesn’t it bother you that they’re introducing a whitelisted internet that will be even stricter than North Korea’s? Do you still think we’re being restricted from the outside? Don’t be ridiculous and don’t embarrass yourself.

the best warcraft 3 modders and dota 2 content creators I’ve seen are from russia
one of the issue for other players with that is that apparently vpn connections at least at the moment, lag servers heavily
In my opinion gaming belongs to the culture and athletic events of this world the last 20 years at least. The origin of each player doesn’t count neither evolves the political differences between countries.
That’s i think the reason gaming companies in their forums don’t allow political conversations, they simply have no place here.
As years before that a similar conversation happened in here about Russian players, i will again keep the same position to stand by the rights and equal treatment to the Russian gamers, because for me it doesn’t matter what our countries in general are doing when it comes to gaming. Gamers seem to be victims of these situations and i am really sorry about it.
As i don’t like to see countries excluded from Olympics because of war situations, i have the same feeling about this matter also.

I don’t know if that’s on Funcom’s or Putin, but I’d make me sad to see my fellow Russian server-mates go away. I don’t even know them personally, but their beautiful builds and trade centers helped me a lot. Talented people.
Damn, man, it’s really time you got yourself a decent VPN that works reliably. Seriously.
I’m not sure what’s causing the issue right now where we can’t connect without a VPN, but it’s happened before 
I get 57 ping with a VPN — it’s actually better than without it. Everything works fine, no matter what they’ve blocked this time.
Some thing several people noted, is that when people connect via VPN, the server ping goes up.
I can’t confirm that is happening but maybe worth looking into
Server ping, as well as its freezes and lags, are increased by less-than-smart players with a gigantomania when building their bases.
