The boss is broken

Game mode: [Single-player]
Type of issue: [Bug]

All the boss in the game are broken. They are distorted when Player or Thrall hits them.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Find the boss in the game. Crocodile, spider, skeleton, etc.
  2. Start a fight with this boss.
  3. See how it is unnaturally distorted. For example, the head of a crocodile goes into the ground, etc.

Single-player game. No mods.

Would it be possible to post a video of the effect? I can’t replicate what you describe in single player/god mode. I only observed the croc in cell G4 and did notice the lower jaw dipping into the sand, but only momentarily.

Please be aware that this is also Norway’s weekend, so take your time; they will be back Monday.

Regards

Jim, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen what OP is talking about on the dragon hatchlings. The 3 most common weapons I use are 2H sword, daggers, and 1H axe. I don’t have video software, but I’ll go test a few things and try to provide a reliable way to duplicate…

Green Dragon Hatchling in UC at top of the steps near the Red Mother. Video settings on medium quality. I got the best results in duplicating when I used a 2H sword, but I also saw it using 1H axe. Use heavy attacks to replicate. Sometimes the head would lower. Most times its head raised. In only one instance, the front legs also raised up off the ground in addition to the head raising up. Nearly impossible to duplicate while cloaked, as it almost exclusively happens while standing nose to nose with the hatchling. If the dragon is attacking, its attack animation will trump the behavior. Time attacks such that #3 and #4 of a full combo are both heavy and both in between the dragon’s attacks.

It could be something they’ve added for immersion, to try to show the impact of a player’s attacks. At the risk of introducing another variable, though, it could also be a hardware/settings issue. My machine isn’t exactly new.

It’s easier to see against the croc boss. It looks very similar to what I’ve seen on my game.

Yep, I can confirm that too. Sometimes their head and arms (forelimbs) go wild when I hit them bosses.

And: when did the dragons’ roar animation return?? :open_mouth:

I think after the last update.

Hey there,

We’ve sent note to our team about this so they can look into it.
