The current state of PvP is an absolute joke

, ,

I am so absolutely done with this absolute joke of a game. Anybody who tries to tell you Conan Exiles has good PvP is either completely braindead or they are one of the pathetic track star cowards who abuse this broken system. There is literally ZERO skill involved here. I mean NONE. You spend days grinding, farming mats, crafting the best gear just to finally get into a fight, and what actually happens. The exact second you land ONE good hit or they realize they might actually lose, they just turn around and sprint.

And they just run. And run. And just RUN.

It is not even a survival game anymore, it is a glorified game of tag for cowards. You end up chasing these runners across half the map, over mountains and through the desert, and because the combat mechanics in this trash bin of a game are so outdated and clunky, it is literally impossible to catch them. The second you press the attack button to try and hit them in the back, your character stops moving to do some stupid long animation while they just keep jogging away unharmed. WOW. SO FUN. AMAZING COMBAT DESIGN.

Where is the skill. There are no actual tactics, no reading your opponent, no mind games. It is just who has more stamina and who is a bigger coward. And do not even get me started on the hitboxes when someone is running away from you, they are completely non existent. You can be right on top of them, swinging at their spine on your screen, and the server just ignores it because of the terrible desync. Then they just roll spam away or keep sprinting until you give up out of sheer boredom.

It is the most unrewarding, infuriating, poorly designed PvP experience I have ever seen in my life. I play games to actually fight people, not to be a personal trainer for a bunch of virtual marathon runners. I am completely sick of this trash runner meta, sick of this busted combat system, and done with this game. I am uninstalling this garbage right now and I am never touching it again. Save yourselves the headache and play something where the devs actually know what they are doing.

Have more stamina OR be better prepared for the chase down. If they get away, they get away. There are absolutely mind games, especially when you introduce multiple players. You know where theyre going? Have a horse? You know how many times I’ve had someone low and then just grabbed a mace off a thrall or had a mordlun on me and just chased them down on a horse. I think your issue is that you play in an encumbrance build 100% of the time. That’s what I think.

Exactly, knowledge is power. Even if you don’t get them “this time” there is next with more information about their habits. Use the game to your advantage, be creative. It’s not just “sharp pointy thing goes in meat bag”.

Stamina mods help fight longer

Certain gear helps provide more stamina

Certain food grant stamina regeneration

Certain armor will slow you down

Armor and weapons can be illusioned

certain weapons grant stamina regeneration when held in hand.

There are a lot of ways of being faster

Even going agility attributes increase your run speed.

If you have any other questions let me know.

They moved the perk for speed to Grit

You’ll still get the Dodge recovery bump with agility points.

Yeah fail from him xD

Toss a throwing axe. It will stagger and cripple them so you can catch up.

Use cripple weapons or combos to prevent them from running.

Use bows to finish them off.

So you are running from the challenge. hmmmm.

PVP has never NOT been anything but a joke. Short story: there is no pvp, there is only offline raiding.

There are two major issues in PVP, and maybe Inflexion could surprise us all by tackling them:

  1. Body vaults
Ability to carry infinite amount of items in your inventory and having a perk that removes encumbrance are totally ridiculous. It means that PVPers dont need a base, they just carry everything on them while logging off (called bodyvault). No base means there is no way to fight back.
Suggested solution: limit the amount of items you can carry in your inventory, forcing people to store stuff in actual containers, thralls and other solutions. Make raiding be about Bases by minimum. Remove the no-encumbrance perk entirely.

  2. Explosives are cheap and easy to get
Its far, far too easy to get massive amounts of explosives which no base can withstand, even without the duping exploits. I have seen all bases on an entire server annihilated within the space of one evening. There is no fighting back, there is no pvp.
    Suggested solution:

  • Make it so that explosive jars must be crafted at an alchemy table, instead of inventory. This would limit the amount of explosives one can carry on their person.
  • Nerf the damage of explosives or increase material costs or both. Currently they are about 100 times too easy to get. Make base raiding be about siege engines instead of explosive jars.

Once there is, you know, actual person vs person combat, the game would be much more fun…

I agree that these are fixes i dont agree that his means there is “NO” pvp. Yes players do explot these mechanics and obviously you can’t blame them for that. I don’t bv, it’s messy and cringe, and its so much faster to farm than it used to be obviously. ALSO I greatly enjoy a nice online raid defense, and have had so much fun with those. I agree totally though that encumbrance is ridiculous. I think if you logout with items on you for a certain span, your body should APPEAR in the desert or on noob river in specific spawn locations that cannot be built upon. I think offline raids are just naturally going to occur, and they’re useful in clearing out inactive clans without waiting this very (too) lengthy decay timer.

FAIL

from this guy if your wearing champions boots

Throwing axe does a cripple in case you dident know, regardless where you hit them, should be easy enough to catch people then.

what we’ve been seeing lately is a certain group of people running the same speed as a horse. even after respc’ing for fleetfoot and enough stamina to cover half the map, when they see they cant win the fight or peel off because they got low and need to heal they will continue to put distance on you and never seem to run out of stamina.

I think you weren’t clear or aware so I checked today.

Basically

Console players -

STILL HAVE the ability to run QUICKFOOTED

thru 3rd perk of Agility

BUT

Pc players -

This perk has SWITCHED places with

3rd grit perk - DEFENSIVE POSTURE

I checked in console and it’s all good on agility

Here is the info on the stats I found online

Quickfooted is an essential utility perk in Conan Exiles

that significantly improves your character’s mobility,

making it a staple for both PvP survival and efficient PvE exploration.

Perk Overview & Stats

The perk makes jogging, sprinting, jumping, swimming, and climbing much faster while reducing overall stamina consumption.

The specific Conan Exiles Wiki Attribute stats include:

Running & Sprinting: (+10%) speed increase,

(-20%) sprinting stamina drain

Jumping: (-67%) stamina cost

Climbing: (+20%) speed increase,

(-10%) stamina drain

Swimming: Up to (+200%) slow-swimming speed,

(+20%) fast-swimming speed,

(-20%) stamina drain

Critical Meta Changes (Exiles Enhanced)In the updated Exiles Enhanced balance patch, Funcom adjusted the attribute lines:Attribute Swap: Quickfooted has been moved into the Grit attribute tree. The Tradeoff: It swapped places with Defensive Posture, which was moved into the Agility tree.Because of this change, if you want to optimize your character for speed and maneuverability, you must now invest your attribute points into Grit instead of Agility

I just wanted to clear things up for current console players who read this and understand that the agility perk is still available on console thru the agility perk tree.

And on PC - has switched places with 3rd grit perk.

Sounds like they have siptah sigils

All know that, Conan or Ark is bad for PvP… All game MMORG is bad for PVP, all… xD

Game ofr PVp is Lol or CSS, game make for Pvp, all other complexe game is not do for PvP. you have a Pvp option, but make for PVE better… All know that since 20 years;..

It is simply, game is make for PVE or PVP, no the 2. the Two is totaly different…

Conan is a mmorg do for PVE. Yes you can do PVP, but 100 bug by second… No make for PVP. just see Video Conan in PVP it is just ridiclous…

Go play Lol or CSS for PVP. No Star Citizen, ARk or Conan…

PvP in Conan can be fun, but right now it’s bugged and unbalanced. Rubberbanding on foundations is a major issue, and hits from behind often don’t register. On top of that, the meta heavily favors agility builds — skill trees and armor sets boost agility, weapon damage, and stamina, while strength builds lag behind. Agility weapons are not only faster but also deal far more DPS and stagger enemies, making them overwhelmingly superior to strength weapons.

Long overdue solutions to these issues that have diminished this game for years.

The state of pvp is really bad sadly. Before the desync caused this sort of phantom hits, which I use to hate and was horrible. But now it’s somehow worse, you can hit someone clear clean and nothing even if they stand still for a second. To just say"pvp always been trash" is a really unhelpful and painfully untrue thing to say. It is noticeably worse right now. The ability to do even just one on duels at sink hole is near impossible it was not that bad. It isn’t a skill issue either or a knowledge issue. No throwing axe or arrow helps when the server is really acting up. No god bubbles is shit with this lag someone summons a god and it isn’t a “skill issue” it isn’t a oh just use explosive arrow set traps ect. It’s gambling atm the server gets so laggy that either the god can’t be killed and just is free to attack slowly or it’s so laggy the god can’t get one attack. It’s the same in pvp you just swing swing swing and no idea if something will register. Before there was rolling trying to weave through the lag it was bad but there was a sort of odd pattern to the de sync. Now it’s pure luck base and it never was this bad.
