The Cursed Mounds pathing problems for thralls

Pathing for the AI in the home of Son of Thorgar is blocked for thralls at the opening of the innermost ‘ring’.

When you have a thrall follow you, the pathing works for most of the openings, but the last opening seems to block the thrall. Thus when you want to fight Son of Thorgar, it’s completely solo. Is this intentional?

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

1. Make thrall follow you; set the options to “Guard Me” with Attack Distance and Chase Distance at maximum. Make Melee priority.
2. Enter the Mounds of the Dead area, and go to the hut of Son of Thorgar.
3. Fight your way through the maze and get rid of all the whights.
4. Enter the innermost ring, and thrall will not follow you. Either you retreat, or you fight the Son of Thorgar solo. Can’t complete the mission to get the Armor-recipe… Died several times, used heavy armor and legendary sword. Retrieved the gear by climbing naked over the walls, grab the gear and try to run out of the maze. Died a couple of times, but got the gear, and that S.O.B still not dead and can’t get the last letter…

Solution?

I hate to walk away from unfinished business, so I tried today. I thought about how I had set the setting of my thrall, and adjusted it such:
‘Chase Distance’ - 10 m
‘Attack Distance’ - 10 m
‘Attack all enemies’
‘Melee Focused battle’

And it worked, as my thrall followed my closely, and joined the boss battle. She only fought with the boss with me, as I cleared everything up to the boss, and she could tank the boss while I hacked away.

Problem solved, and maybe the settings did the trick. I’ll keep this in mind for future excursions.
