Hello again! With the announcement of the CE:E update, I’ve noticed that numerous console players are upset about being left behind. Don’t try to sugar coat it, that’s exactly how it feels. That aside, I would like to offer those on Xbox a chance to be part of The Institute. This server has more than a year of uptime and looking to stay up for as long as there is a single player on it. I’m very dedicated to my server members and welcome all with open arms. The discord link will be provided at the end of the post but know that joining is completely optional and not mandatory in any way shape or form. You can still have fun on the server without joining.
What I am offering you is a place to call home and keep the game relevant. Little background into how the past year worked out. I tried to hold server events on a monthly basis and have made bootleg Sacred Hunt and Headhunter event as seen here. I do my best to make everyone feel like the game is still fun. I enjoy the game and everything it has. Even if we’ve been left behind with this recent update.
My goal is to provide someone with a home server. If you’re interested in why I have dedicated such time and effort, you can read about it here but the long and short of it is that I was part of a server that I enjoyed and had fun on and when I heard that it would be shutting down, I thought of how that made me and everyone on it feel. So I decided to be the solution to the problem.
I would like to extend a hand to any and all Xbox players to have a home with us. If the servers were crossplay then I would offer the hand to PlayStation, Epic and Microsoft PC as well. Not sure why they’re not, games that started out on separate consoles have become crossplay and even crossprogression aka cross save. I’m not a game dev so I’m not going to claim it to be easy but I will claim to know that it can be done, it just isn’t but I won’t get into that as that’s not the point of this post.
The Institute has done many server events as seen here just to name one. There was also a village defense and city purge where the players commenced a purge on a city. The purpose of these events were meant to keep the game interesting and keep the player entertained. I care about my server members. Full stop. I won’t ever abandon the server or the members.
There are a few details about the server that should be known. The server, on the weekends, has the rates increased by 5x and the crafting time and crafting resources halved. On the weekdays it returns to default settings. This has been going on for a little less than a year and I do often forget at times. More details in the discord. The stamina is also changed. The consumption is halved and the regen rate is set to how it was prior to Age of Heroes. Age of War stamina, sorta speak.
There are also rules to the server as well. Number one being no stealing from other players. You need something? Just ask for it. No building on top of spawns, resource and boss spawns in particular. There must be a monthly banner outside every land claim to show activity for the month. This is to ensure a clean server and server cleanups happen often. Decay timer is set to 30 days and doubles around holidays. This also is to ensure a clean server and to get any abandoned bases that I may miss in the cleanups. There are more rules in the discord but those are the main ones.
We welcome all players old and new to join up. We’re in the middle of our anniversary event which is dubbed The Gauntlet. Which was actually an idea presented to one of the members.
My job is to make sure you have fun and yours is to have fun. If you’re not having fun then I’m not doing a good job.
There are going to be more events in the future. I also have ideas for quest lines. Original content to keep the player excited. I offer solace for those that’re upset about this unfortunate outcome of being left behind. Know that you have a home with us at The Institute.
