The game has several positive aspects: 1- Thanks to Uneral 5, cheaters have disappeared. 2- They finally did what many had been waiting for: merging the base map with Siptah. I think it’s one of the best things that could have been done for the game, and these changes have brought many people back and filled the servers.
But now the game has a huge problem: as soon as the number of players increases, the game becomes completely unplayable. It’s much worse than the typical lag before the update. Before, characters could teleport, and the base took a while to load, but now it’s impossible to interact normally with anything. For example, when you hit another player or even an NPC, you see the animation, you see the blood spurt, you can perform a full combo… only to find that you’ve done 0 damage because the game simply wasn’t able to process it. The problem is that it doesn’t happen sometimes, or sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t; it happens all the time, making even entire builds that work wonderfully when there are few players completely useless when there’s a large population.
I agree here. Can only play on servers with like less than 5 online. Even then combat tends to lag out a lot. I can barely play on one of the servers I’m on. It’s one with obnoxious player builds where they pack it full of armored mannequins. On the legacy side it lagged out but behaved once it loaded in. On that very same server it’s just unplayable now.
Came back to play after UE5 update. Ive died countless times from falling, random animals rubberbanding me, myself rubberbanding, sometimes at least 2 to 3 seconds for the server to respond to hits and accessing chests… what is going on.
I also wish they focused on fixing the server-side issues, it’s not a server provider issue 100%, this desync has been happening since the game released and it’s still there. This needs to be addressed over anything else, official servers are mostly unplayable but it doesn’t stop there, private servers ALSO become unplayable depending on population.
The server has 15 FPS? wth is this? Meanwhile CPU usage is under 5% total, but the bottleneck of using one thread is showing big time still. Only the devs can fix this widespread critical issue.
Also wish the devs would be more responsive to our posts, feels like we’re talking to a wall unless a streamer complains about something and THEN it becomes a priority. Do we need streamers to complain about the lag issues for it to be addressed? Let me know and I can contact all the Conan Exiles streamers right now.
This is one of the issues, taverns in siptah are also not working, purges are not working as intended either in siptah.
I can play just fine early in the AM, usually a few on but less the 10. In the evenings the lag is horrendous with just 15 on. Seems to be more about the time of day then how many are on.
But take in to account peoples actual ping to the server does effect everyone on it.
Mileage does not vary, we all experience the same problems during prime time, nobody is special
Yes thats right this happens when the servers are loaded and this is usually during prime time, so a server with 20+ like Official #1552 is completely unplayable during these times. Playing in the AM or with less than 4-5 online is just fine but that isn’t the solution now is it? I am not going to change my life around a game and neither should you.
Ping is irrelevant, I ping 12-15 anytime of the day so it cannot be a latency issue, its a server load issue. The more players online the worse it gets with teleporting NPC’s, rubber banding, enemies appearing out of nowhere, player character dying to game actors not yet rendered and so on.
The game is not playable in its current state and the experience is horrible, especially for new players
Either lower the player limit or optimize the server performance
Also please refrain from telling me how special you are and how this doesn’t happen to you at 5AM when nobody is on, you’re not helping anything or anyone.
I do have the feeling that something changed this week. Where last week it was unplayable rubberbanding from Monday on it seemed to be better on the official EU servers that I play on.
Was it perfect like when I play at 3 am, no but it felt better then last week.
Recently they managed the lag problem with 1.2.0 uptade, but today they made a reroll due to a lot of new issues with that uptade and lag returns. I hope they fix the patch soon and re-release it because this seems like the solution to the unbearable lag problem.
