It is commonly believed that foundations cause server lag. However, I have been told that this is really a rendering issue client side and that It’s that the actual mesh on foundations has way more polygons than it needs to. So it’s literally just a strain on peoples’ graphics card trying to draw a bunch of triangles, most of which are redundant. I DO know that there is a considerable improvement in lag when we have literally removed every single foundation from a build, which is a tedious and annoying process. So Funcom, if this really is the case and it in fact IS foundations that are causing this issue for so many people… what are you doing about it?
