The game world is inseparable from magic. After all, on the island of Siptah there are areas with an unnaturally cold climate. But this does not mean that Siptah is not on the map and is entirely located in a parallel reality. To be honest, it’s not at all clear where this crazy idea came from.
False. There is nowhere on the map the geography can possibly fit.
Sources put access points into the exiled lands as far east as Kuthchemes, as far west as the Stygian coastline, and as far south as Xuthal. For the size of it, that is impossible; and does not match the geographical climates of any of those locations.
That doesn’t change current-day continutity that the unfinished past version of the game lacked those. We know now that the sand is entirely artificial, and the main climate was once jungle, as would match the Thurian-Aged Pre-Human civilization.
Siptah is on the Hyborian world. You’ve confused yourself, not knowing which map is which.
The Outcast, the accounts of the Witch-Queen, the intentionally incorrect sun and moon movement on the Exiled Lands, the geographical impossibility not lining up with anything on the planet, all corroborated by Dale Rippke’s Great Migration essay and HP Lovecraft’s many tales of Nyarlathotep and the Dreamlands. Do you have any sources to challenge that, or just some more nuh uh?
Do you have accurate detailed maps? Are you sure?
Legend says that this is a real earthly area.
‘During one of his journeys seeking sorcerous knowledge, he stumbled upon the Unnamed City and, befriending the lone survivor, Warmaker Klael, he soon learned of the powerful artefacts contained beneath the city.’
(Thoth Amon - Official Conan Exiles Wiki)
And where is there even a word about parallel reality???
PS Some are simply obsessed with parallel reality. Not only is Hyboria fictional, and the game reality is fictional - give them a third fiction, fiction to the third degree, so to speak.
That’s exactly what I said.
Don`t lie.
Do you? I have the closest thing possible, a copy of a rough sketch by REH himself. I also have all the books, none of which corroborate with it being a real place. I also have a quote from Joel Bylos that says it’s not any existing place in Hyboria.
What legend? What specific legend is this? Give me a name.
I can tell you haven’t read very much. Keep living in ignorance, if the best you can do is cite a single wiki page which doesn’t even prove your point. If Thoth-Amon, a powerful sorcerer was only able to find the Exiled Lands by pure chance, what makes you so certain it’s on this world?
Friend, that’s all you’ve been doing this entire thread.
I believe that to be a coy way of telling you that you won’t find any reference in lore to it. This allowed the devs to avoid any plothole nitpicking by creating a new “area” for the game.
Fun fact…
While I do not know much (or care) about lore… in the game’s source code… Funcom’s actual project codename for the entire infrastructure that manages the database and does all the saving etc. is “Dreamworld”
Correct. And where can you fit an entire new land in a world of already established lands? Somewhere off-world.
or outside the existing mapped world. We are talking prehistory-fictional all be it–is there a reference to all eartly continents in REHs work? Or is it possible Exike Lands exists outside thise lands, manipulated by a sorcerer–or aliens–to be an antfarm for entertainment.
Not possible due to previously listed reasons. We know of access points near Kuthchemes, Xuthal, and the western Stygian coastline. It can’t be a separate continent if it’s accessed by land on the main continent.
Ant farm, snowglobe, similar idea. But yes
I gave a link, why engage in demagoguery? A legend of the game we all play.
Find at the given link even a word that the Exile Lands are conceived by the developers precisely as some kind of parallel reality.
You gave a link to a wiki page paraphrasing a snippet of ingame dialogue. That’s not a legend, that proves nothing.
Find where they say it’s not. You won’t.
This legend proves that the developers intended the Exile Lands to be a real location on the Hyborian world. The only limitation is that people with bracelets cannot leave it. Access to it is free for anyone from neighboring countries. What is not clear? Why do you insist on nonsense about some kind of parallel reality? It’s not even funny anymore.
You can’t just say “legend” and it be a thing. It’s not. You’re cherrypicking a fan-written wiki page and taking it as truth. I could go on right now and edit it to say what I want, because that’s how wikis work.
The developers intended it not to be part of the existing world, which is exactly why they directly stated such.
I’ve spent years looking into the lore, piecing together the puzzle and doing my research. You can’t even humor me with any real counterpoint, it’s embarrassing. Why are you so insistent on being right, when you’ve provided nothing to back yourself up? It’s not even funny anymore.
it is definately an alt reality. But that reality could very well be ON the Hyboria Map. Think the Legacy of Cane game. Theor were 2 dimension occupying the same space, but yiu had to cross over to view the other one. So both are right. It is in REHs map, but only accesible thru crossing the realm.
To add, it explains the gamey parts. Decay? it doesnt vanish but moves to the “real” world. Spawns? They are conjured from npcs of the real world. Death? There essence moves back to thebreal world. Our Death? the bracelet prevents that so we respawn in Exiles land. That explains everything!
Sorta. My headcanon is that the Exiled Lands severed off during the Thurian Age, possibly as a way of protecting their capital from the Cataclysm. That would explain the jungle setting and the hard to place coastline. It lines up with how the continents were before the sinking of Lemuria.
Of course, I doubt Teng even knows what any of that is.
Less flaming, more interesting ideas, please. People can have different opinions and interpretations without being wrong, lieing or being ignorant. So let’s be civil, shall we?
He is drunk after all… drunk people say so many things…
Except Conan is passing thru and not braceleted.
