Thinking about PVP again

I’ve been thinking about trying PVP again. I quit last time bc of offline raiding or being outmatched in numbers as a solo player. Is it possible to hide your base at this point? Any tips for solo pvp? Should go official or private?

Official servers on PC are plagued with hackers to the point that it has driven population down to almost dead.

On console there is hope but both console and PC still have problems with offlining.

Some PC Private servers are still experiencing issues with hackers but both PC and console have the option to enable dynamic building damage or have rules around offlining. You’d have to dig hard to find what you’re looking for though.

I’m on Xbox. How do I find a good private server?

There’s a section on the forum for server promotion, Reddit is a good place to look too.

I am not sure how the server list works on Xbox but if it is anything similar to PC, I usually do a scan looking at the private servers. Sometimes the details are in the titles, such as the name. I’ll take that and do a google search to see if I can find specifics either via forum, Reddit, server promotion websites or Discords if they have one.

Offline raid, outnumbered, hackers, they are all part of pvp.
If you don’t like it, join a pve-c server, like me.
You will most likely find a public arena there.
Then you shout, “I wanna kill every single one of you! Meet me in the arena!”
You will know whether this server is worth staying judging by the number of responses.

True story.

PvC official seems to have less hackers and easily more fun and less raids, just a suggestion. I tend to attack the locals of mine quite often lol.

I’ve been playing on PVE-C for probably a year. It’s what kept me playing the game. I’ve played sporadically since launch. I never could get ahead on PVP because once alpha clans found my base I got raided constantly and I can’t devote that much time to the he game. Waking up to a raided piece of rubble got old. I really wish there was a way to protect your base offline. On the other hand, I’ve never had a more realistic sense of fear and excitement trying to survive on pvp.

Yes. I’m still sitting on 1 server for about 2 years now and yet to be found (would have been longer but server transfer happened). Of course I’m not active on it but still its a base just sitting there full of goodies. You just have to be smart, think outside of the box, and never EVER use content providers as the means to tell you hidden spots. You got to get dirty and experience matters. Know the paths of scouting, understand what land claim radius means, light bleed is always a thing, know your environments (you should have the ability to know when an animal is not in the right spot which would denote a player interacted there)

Things you aren’t going to like. PVP as a solo sort of regulates you to either just playing PVE but without the urban sprawl of PVE servers or offlining as a pvper. There really isn’t much middle ground there as you won’t be a match for clans (at least those that have some experience with the game) for fighting and the time dedication required is hard to rationalize with just the solo experience.

Also you got to ask yourself this. With harvest rates the way they are and if you are good with ensuring your zones are covered, what is the purpose of being in PVP environments? I will go back into a PVP zone for about 2 weeks until I realize how much I have acquired and there is no point in raiding outside of trolling other players. The main reason I keep going back is just to get the experience of a less built up server that isn’t full of people’s experimental building projects they don’t want to let go of.

You probably have been found but no action taken.

Guaranteed I would have found you :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

concern

I believe they should offer offline protection versions of PvP rather than no building destruction it can only occur during the time you can defend but they can still set up a siege and wait for you if they pay attention to the log in times so not sure if this would help or instill terror instead lol.

If you do I would suggest just asking a group to let you help kill others. Etc

Build a small efficient box with multiple layers in the mountains to make life harder, get a voidforge vegabond outfit for wanderlust and you will have a huge ease of access to your home with out a elevator and if you want to be funny set up a elevator that brings them directly in to a physical death trap. Then build only the outfit weapons and potions if you want and then should be vastly easier, harder to hit something that has multiple layers and is rigged all along the cliffside to cause them to fall to death.
