This scandalously broken game should be removed from the stores

You don’t know the answer.
I will tell you this;
Had they made the right choice, we wouldn’t be experiencing the problems that was caused by it since the beginning. But they made a choice based upon marketability and being able to distribute it to a wide audience in a short period of time … including you although you are considerably late getting onto the scene.

Use your software development skills and figure it out. That’s one of the things you’re supposed to be able to do based upon your expertise.
You don’t have to go digging around the code to see it.
When you do find it, it will be staring right at you in plain sight.
Once you do, you might be a little more forgiving.

However, I doubt you would want to get onto their payroll now and perhaps do something constructive. But even if you could, I doubt they would let you change it because simply that would be basically remastering this game from the ground up.

But maybe, they might decide to do a remaster of this game .. when the time comes.
If they do, pray they don’t make the same damned fool mistake they made the first time.

Sure, this game has bugs. But it’s not broken.

frankly speaking when I bought the game (spring 2021) it had bugs but it was playable
if I compare it with the state then, so now I wouldn’t buy it…it’s definitely not fair to keep asking full price for it

Oh boy, your posts are soo irritating. How does this make any sense in your mind? The combination of me, my skills and the decision Funcom made years ago is pretty weird, to say the least.

Whatever decision they made, whatever issues they have with their code - it doesn’t matter, because the core message of my initial post still stands regardless of all this: either sell a functioning game or stopp selling it.

Because they game is indeed broken - at least on PlayStation, as you can see in so many posts in the bug report section, because those bugs lead to crashes which lead to lost data and progress far too often.

You can reply or you can let it be - I, however, won’t react to your posts anymore, as I absolutely can’t follow whatever happens in your head.

You don’t have to reply.
Just look into it and you might see where this is coming from.
Once you can focus on that, then perhaps you can come up with constructive feedback for them to go on where it involves PlayStation.
I apologize that my answers are confusing to you, but it is intentional.
But what is at the root of this mess involves all the platforms.

Note of possible interest:
To play this game on PS5, your system may need to be updated to the latest system software. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent. See Backward compatibility: PS4 games playable on PS5 consoles for more details.

Are you still playing?

And you can realize that this game is not for you and let it be, or you can whine like a petulant child incessantly about something that other people may or may not experience. To be frank, I do not experience the vast majority of the bugs that people sit on these forums and cry about. And others I do experience which other players I know do not experience. That is the thing with a lot of the bugs in this game, they are not a catch all. They MAY or MAY NOT effect any given player at any given time. And if you listen to the people on the forums, every single one of them are **GAME BREAKING!!!****, when in reality the are usually minor inconveniences. Some are pretty major, but the majority of them are really not.

Your post reeks of blowing everything out of proportion for the soul purpose of eliciting an emotional response. Sorry but manipulative tactics like that are, frankly, disgusting. Your opinion whether or not Funcom should or should not be allowed to sell Conan Exiles is utterly irrelevant. Either provide constructive feedback or stop throwing a temper tantrum.

This statement alone leads me to believe that you have, in fact, never played a video game before. In all seriousness, video games have been plagued with massive levels of bugs for so long that it is ludicrous for you to make such a statement. This should have been the very FIRST think you had done, or you should have expected to get what you paid for, which is essentially a gamble. Without doing any research prior to making a purchase you have no idea if you are spending your money on something that you will either enjoy or despise, something that functions properly is or riddled with bugs and it virtually unplayable. Hence you are gambling on the prospect that you will receive something that both words properly and is enjoyable. That is a horrid way of spending ones money.

Prove it.

I’ve seen so many people on these forums make this claim and yet have zero knowledge of what the hell they are talking about. So prove it because I don’t believe a single one of you until you do so.

Fraud:
noun
wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.

Prove this, otherwise;

Defamation:
noun
the action of damaging the good reputation of someone; slander or libel.

If you are going to accuse Funcom of fraud with absolutely ZERO evidence to back up your statement other than MY FEELINGS GOT HURT BECAUSE I DIDN’T LIKE THEIR GAME then guess what you yourself are guilty of?

See above.

Good, then you should have “let it be” as you told @Vahlok to do, but I guess you simply cannot follow your own advice can you? :woman_shrugging:

So sorry but you are clearly nothing more than a troll who are here for no valid purpose other than to be a troll. Please leave.

I would agree if you were talking about the game 4 years ago. I don’t like the current game and therefore I give less leeway to the general bugginess, wether its bad pathing, bad netcode, servers imploding at the sign of any pvp. features that have been around for half a year and needed disabling because it’s so utterly broken.

In my opinion they’ve completely done away with the “grit” of the game, they’ve filed down every corner. maybe you’re a pve player so you don’t really care about the core “struggle” that the game used to have. but all the meaning of the pvp, progression has been completely stripped out.

this WAS my favourite game btw.

If you’re not keeping up with it the Fun Pimps posted a video a couple days ago of the new sandstorm in the desert area along with a new mob that the player was fighting in third person.

May or may not actually mean anything however but I want to believe.

Ok so you are not playing anymore, eh?

no, not aside from working on my mod (conan classic)

I glanced over the rest of the thread but I will be responding to you only in context of your original post.

I think it is fair for you to feel frustrated by this experience.

It is not immediately apparent but the PS version of the game is at the least a test of patience and at worst a tragedy.

So many post and bug reports only from October and onward but certainly paints the picture of the situation. You’re not alone.

I believe until our respective governments really flesh out consumer protection rights in the gaming sphere we’ll be stuck with situations such as we’re in now. Especially with problematic bad actors like predatory monetization, boardroom theory, early access, pushing out games/patches to meet shareholder expectations, and one of the biggest issues: always online.

Funcom has an opportunity to be better. They don’t have to follow status quo and sometimes they don’t. Hell, we wouldn’t have this (actually amazing) game if they threw in the towel. It NEEDS so much work and there is a wonderfully passionate player base that have stuck around through thick and thin hoping for the potential of what is CE to shine through. From the crazy PVPers to the insane mod creators and worlds the players have created, the amazing builders, content creators and imaginative RPers. Most of us love the game despite its flaws. That doesn’t mean we have to accept the flaws, we can demand and get a stable client.

Funcom appears to have also learned from their mistakes, Dune is being released as a full game rather than early access and they’re not going the route of Black Lotus Bazaar.

Despite the IP, my personal ties to it and love of games, I feel like if I tried CE now I probably wouldn’t play it. I have less patience now than I did in 2017. If it weren’t for being stung by flawed systems and dismissed despite my loyalty, I’d have been a whale. There are many of me.

With all of that said there are incredibly talented and hard working employees behind all this. Beautiful works of art in writing, music, visual art and have improved in many ways over the years. I will give credit where credit is due, each and every single time. However, I point my finger at the people making decisions and remark on what the perception of their legacy is. It’s often disappointing and leaves you feeling betrayed.

Any chance of getting that detail once the question is old and stale enough that awaiting the response is moot?

I will say that Xevyr knows. (Spelling?)
He hit the nail on the head in one of our private discussions.

I thought it can’t get worse and more laughable than posts by DeaconElie, but you sure catched up. What a circus.

Well, there’s your issue. The PS5 never received an optimisation update like the Series S/X did, so you’re stuck playing the PS4 / XB1 version of the game on your PS5.

This thread has a very aggressive title. but it made me understand something.

Games today have many bugs and the number of bugs is never zero. This is true for almost all games. I understand why. They are designed for multiple platforms. They use the same code to save time and money.
And today’s game engines are not suitable for this. They are not at their best. They are more advanced. Maybe the next game engine will be more suitable for this, but it’s not today. Every game on more than one platform is swimming in bugs. Fixes create new problems.

Fixes for PC also cause glitches for PlayStation and vice versa. This is a very difficult situation. I can only hope for “Conan Exiles Remastered” with the new game engine. And yes I would buy the CE remaster.

It may not be impossible to make it work properly on all platforms with the current game engine, but it is very difficult.

Well said @AnyGamer.
I tried to stay silent in here since both of sides had a great percentage of being correct. It’s the hyperbole that creates the reaction of other members and the conflict starts.
But is hyperbole feedback in the end?
Yes, it can be, because hyperbole is created from frustration and frustration got created from a franchise that’s problematic. Yet the one who reacts and give feedback, even negative, is one of the players who definitely loved the game. If he didn’t, he would just delete and move on.
Both sides are on the same side, they all want the game to be fixed, because it is broken. Maybe a small percentage feel or meet the most problematic side of this franchise, which is absolutely broken, but this makes no excuse.
The game needs fixing, period!

My feedback about ps5 single player had been created since October of 24.

If you see the link is still open, community haven’t closed it because they encourage criticism. Funcom may not be the best gaming company, but it’s not the worst too. They have good parts and parts that need true improvement, so they allow criticism.

The truth however for broken Playstation version starts on the sorcery update. Yet back then ps5 users were not dealing the disaster ps4 had.

We love this game Funcom, we cannot thank you enough for creating it, but please, when you release the new franchise that’s taken all your energy, (totally logical) we beg you to look back a bit.

This game is one of your gems, you should be proud of it and give the attention that’s required.

You deserve it and we deserve it too.

Thats an insignificant bug, easily worked around as you said.

Others have had invisible inventory items, falling through foundations limiting vertical builds or anything above 2 stories, disappearing thralls that took months sometimes to aquire. Some are even getting admin hacked and losing all progress and unique recipies to the point of having to delete and start again.

I just dont understand why your trivialising game breaking bugs when you know full well they exist.

Once again if that was a game issue ERVERYONE would have those same issues.
If people share an issue they need to figure out what they have in common that is causing the issue. If it’s the console they are on I’m sorry, there is a reason I will never go back to consoles.

Admin hacked is a hack, not a game bug, not the topic.

I’m not belittling the bugs people have, but I’m also not accusing funcom of fraud, saying the game is "scandalously " broken, or needs to be pulled from sale, just because it doesn’t play well by my standard on my system. I’m not saying because the game doesn’t play well on my console that the game needs to be pulled for everyone.

This game wont get pulled, even if it was just a log in that instantly disconnected you and said “try again”. lol.

I did try the dune beta, did you? I have to say funcom make fun games. I just wish they would not touch them after release.
