Thrall Fighter vs Archer, are they the same?

I have been beating a few treasure seekers from sep into submission lately and i am curious to what the difference between the archer and fighter is? I have seen some information about it through a google search that there is some super secret, behind the scenes, damage calculation based on each type but that info is from 2020.

My question is this. If i have an “archer” that has high strength, should i give him a strength type weapon and vice versa?

It’s not super secret, @Bobothewizard although this information is not in the game. You could find it easily enough in the wiki. I don’t know if it is already updated.
There are a few factors you need to consider.
The most important in this case are the ranged damage multiplier and the melee dmg modifier. Archers have a higher ranged dmg modifier and a lower melee dmg modifier. I knew these pre 3.0, but with the update they changed, but the principle likely remains the same. Maybe someone can tell them.
Then you need to see the bonus per point the thrall gains when you level it up, but in this case this is not very important since they are both of the same faction and values shouldn’t differ much. When you level up an archer, you want to increase agility, as this is the stat that will bost the damage delivered by bows (and agility class weapons like daggers). Feed it accordingly.
When you level up a fighter, if you are going for a strenght build, you want to boost strenght that increases the dmg of 2h swords, maces etc. Feed it accordingly.

RHTS fighters will be better melee warriors, generally, but they also had quite a high ranged dmg multiplier, superior to almost all t4 archers from other factions.
Equip them with gear favoring their function.
I don’t remember if their base HP is the same. I think fighters had it slightly higher.

How curious… why would they give Ladagara such a high ranged dmg multiplier when she has an axe? Any idea @Xevyr ? I had no idea she was the best archer in the game (if you spawn her as a thrall). Her melee multiplier is rather underwhelming, though. Funny, because when I made a few tests some time ago, she could kill a boss almost as fast as the arena champion, even if her melee multiplier is significantly lower.

I can’t help but notice many bosses got their hp and their multipliers significantly lowered. No wonder thralls are performing decently. Bosses were tweaked. Might as well left things as they were, because this is kind of a joke. Alright, you lowered thralls hp and dmg, but if you decreased very significantly both the hp and dmg multipliers of bosses, what’s the point? I don’t get it. The arena champion has a multiplier that is just a little higher than berserkers used to have. She used to have much higher dmg, I was told. Her multiplier was absurd.
Anyway… this is all great info, @Xevyr ! Overall I prefer how perks and attributes work now, definitely. Thanks a lot!

Yes… been linking it since 3.0 dropped… seems to go past half the people’s heads… heck even firespark made a similar one but without all these calculations so you kinda have to play “accountant” with that when they could’ve just linked mine as it was ready before that Probably didn’t know about it.

Yes… it’s a bug… can’t remember if I even reported that actually… I know I mentioned it in a thread at least…
Basically it appears that Archer thralls specifically have their ranged multiplier further multiplied by the “Wild” / untamed version’s multiplier on top of their regular one… Now most of those wild templates don’t have anything significant, either a 1 or nothing I think… but tooth of dagon and a Ladagara and maybe a few others are the ones affected by it.
The formula is applied universally to all archers thou… there just happens to be nothing there to mess it up for the regular ones.

I’m not entirely sure how they were all affected or whether others have been changed as well… since before 3.0 I haven’t messed around with the devkit so I didn’t see any of these numbers for real
However similarly based on rumors I think the Arena Champion used to have something close to 10x… the rest weren’t so crazy thou so idk if they even touched those

The hp was cut. That I know because it was visible on thralls. In the wild I have no idea. The dmg multiplier I can’t be sure beyond the Arena Champ.
The wild versions also have much lower hp than the thrall version and come with armor. I wonder if the multipliers of both are the same…
Man, if I had a gamming pc I would lose hours on this!

@Xevyr something strange is going on. So, I just tested a thrall arena champion with gruel, arena champion armor and the quake mace against a wild arena champion. The wild version has 5250 HP. The thrall version has 15725 HP.
Guess who survived? The Wild version. She killed the thrall while near 2k HP
So, this leads me to think the dmg multiplier of the thrall version was tweaked, but the wild version is still, well, wild with absurd dmg. I’ll share the clip. Dude, I guarantee that pre 3.0 a thrall AC would wreck a Wild AC, easily. Here I didn’t level the thrall. Just gave her a champ armor and gruel. Settings are default. But the thrall was killed while having 3x the wild version’s HP. Strange, no?

I wonder if they just went to the thralls database, cut dmg multipliers in half as a whole and called it a day , wild versions remaining unaffected… Maybe the wild version had a 5x multiplier, not a 10.

Now I threw a Ladagara against her, same conditions, but without gruel. The Ladagara won, but she was on her last legs with little over 1700 HP.

This is what I was saying about the experience of leveling and watching hundreds of thralls fight after 3.0.
Xevyr’s chart is awesome, but some things do not add up. I actually think that some attributes are overriding the multipliers. Just my opinion.
