I know this topic’s been discussed many times before. I read through most of the older posts, but I thought I’d bring it up again to ask a more specific question.
I have seen thralls equipped with maces and shields use the shields properly, and have seen attacks from NPCs blocked by those shields perfectly fine. I remember the old issue of thralls getting stuck with a shield, but that appears to be gone now.
My question is: exactly what weapons do thralls use a shield with? I have a couple thralls equipped with swords and shields. They hold the shield but they won’t block with it like they do with a mace.
Obviously they are not going to use two-handed weapons with a shield but I feel like a one-handed sword and shield should work just as well as a mace and shield.
@Mustangblue2001 that is a fine question Haven’t given a Thrall a shield in years I use one myself this weekend would like to experiment with that appreciate you bringing it up.
If i recall, shortswords and regular swords are fine as well. The only thing with regular swords is them zipping around due to the mobility on some attacks, causing them to attempt to close in more often instead of standing still and blocking or attacking.
In my opinion,the best weapons are mace and axe,with shield.
For bearers and almost any kind of tribe or tier.
Sword and shield only to cimmerians,T4 and lower.
Ulrich,Danlisia,Markus,Sonja…they are archers,but use very well the shield.
Maybe Stygians T4,Senja,Kunar and Umbra too.
Any warrior will use a little bit more armour using shield even if they don´t block attacks,is easy to check against bosses.
I didn’t realize I had given the thralls short swords that are agility weapons. I thought the weapons were regular sword STR weapons. It makes sense now why they aren’t doing the combos or using the shields.
